Klhip Nail Clippers

Klhip Nail Clippers

Mr. Williams knows my love for proper nail clippers. He shared this set with me from Klhip. Beyond being precision clippers, they’re heavily redesigned with ergonomic needs in mind. Winning an I.D. Magazine award last is a good sign as well. It also uses a single blade cutting mechanism. “Klhip’s single blade cuts so cleanly and precisely that filing isn’t necessary. And this smooth action tends to keep clippings on-board instead of falling to the floor.” I need them.

Atelier La Colombe

selectism - Atelier La Colombe

Philadelphia’s leading coffee house, La Colombe, has introduced a new line of single batch coffees. Master roasters Todd and Jean Philippe roast and sample each type of bean individually before approving them for a La Colombe Blend, and with Atelier allow the consumer an opportunity to experience coffee in its rawest form.

The first offering from the program is Haiti – Blue Forest. “Blue Forest, an heirloom typica variety, is grown semi-wild in the mountains of Haiti, a rare and historical coffee as it comes from an unaltered line traced back to the first plant cultivated outside of Ethiopia. What’s more, Blue Forest is the only Haitian coffee in America, of specialty grade.”

This Spring, one of our favorite sneakers, the 09/63 plimsoll from SeaVees, gets dressed in linen. Four colors are available now, all muted and all perfectly suited for denim or rolled chinos.

Check out all the SeaVees 09/63 Pantone Linen Plimsoll colors after the jump.

Portland General Store Whiskey Wet Shave Jelly

Portland General Store Whiskey Wet Shave Jelly

Shave with some whiskey, my friends. “This is a wonderfully rich, lathering shave soap with a lovely scent of WHISKEY. Blended into this soap is bentonite clay, also referred to as Montmorillonite, one of the most effective and powerful healing clays used to treat both internal and external maladies. Bentonite is a highly absorbent clay that pulls oils and toxins from the skin.” Blackbird carries the line.

Mark McNairy New Amsterdam Saddle Chukka Boot

An interesting one from the McNairy line. The saddle shoe gets a heighten take in the form of a “chukka.” The red brick sole finishes it off well against the leather upper. Opening Ceremony has them.

Selectism - oona-table-04

Swiss Miss alerts us to an item we’ve been on the lookout for lately – a good bed side table. Yes, we know a bed side table isn’t the sort of thing we should be looking for – sorry, we’ll get back to searching for double monks another time. In case you were wondering, we prefer the orange version.

Video | Fernando Frisoni Autumn/Winter 2011 – “Esconde”

http://www.vimeo.com/21646939

Esconde’ is a short film set in an abstract environment, as a man and woman are trapped in a dream. The man and woman are Josh Oliver and Stephanie Carta respectively, with young versions of themselves also appearing in this dream like sequence. It turns out the fantasy is just that – all a figment of the children’s imaginations during a game of hide and seek, as they imagine themselves as adults it’s their innocence that keeps them apart.”
