selectism - Dockers "Wear the Pants" Project

On Monday May 2, 2011, Dockers will announce the winners of their $100,000 “Wear the Pants” project.

The contest encourages men to take action on a personal dream as yet unrealized. Five finalists have been selected – each with a distinct desire and project. Joshua Kuch, for example, plans to open a microbrewery in Tallahassee, Florida if he claims victory. In contrast, Ryland King of Goleta, California (pictured above) aims to expand his youth driven nonprofit which empowers children to become stewards of the environment.

Meet the five finalists after the jump. And, vote at the Dockers facbook to help your favorite “Wear the Pants.”

About the Five Finalists:
* Jarrett Haley from South Bend, Indiana dreams of producing thoughtful, engaging books that will get men reading again.
* Braden Gow hopes to start a naturally leavened, clay oven bread baking business and sell his goods at local co-ops and farmers markets in the Belfast, Maine area.
* Steven Holt of Seattle, Washington wants to run a business re-furbishing furniture, housewares and reclaimed goods to extend the life of manufactured items.
* Joshua Kuch aspires to keep his entire town of Tallahassee, Florida flowing with delicious suds by creating microbreweries.
* Ryland King of Goleta, California has big dreams of expanding his nonprofit that links teams of college students with elementary school classes empowering kids to become stewards of the environment.
