Atelier Maison Mallon CRISTAL 'Classic Edition' Candles

After an initial Holiday release, Atelier Maison Mallon is back with a new series of candles. The CRISTAL ‘Classic Edition’ offers two new scents, Jacob and Samuel. While the first ones were more Christmas oriented scents, these are good for the entire year around. Yet thankfully the brand sticks to their vintage cristal glasses, which really sets them apart from everything else out there. The candles are now available from Soto.

selectism - Soot Desk

Here’s a stunning architect desk designed by Note Design Studio of Stockholm. The desk is covered inside and out with pine veneer in a herringbone pattern. The piece was designed for cabinetmaker Karolina Stenfelt, who showed her skills while studying at Carl Malmsten School of Furniture – using the desk as a glowing example of her capabilities. We wouldn’t mind working behind something like this little beauty. More looks follow.

Arcade Fire – Culture War by ListenBeforeYouBuy

Hot on the heels of the forthcoming deluxe packaging of last year’s acclaimed The Arcade Fire L.P., “The Suburbs, Two New Arcade Fire Tracks Speaking In Tongues and Culture War” comes word of  two new singles. Seeing as those outside the U.K. cannot stream them from their source on the Zane Lowe show, LBYB rips them for your listening pleasure. On the coming deluxe edition of “that” album: “They’re readying a deluxe version of that album ‘The Suburbs’ (out June 27th) as well as a Spike Jonze-directed film called ‘Scenes From The Suburbs’ including two previously unreleased/unheard/unknown tracks. Tonight Zane Lowe had the world premiere of both songs and below you can hear radio rips of both of them, ‘Speaking In Tongues’ featuring Talking Heads’ David Byrne, and ‘Culture War’.”

selectism - Cascal Handcrafted All Natural Sodas

Our love of craft soda is well documented. Cascal is our latest interest, a fermented beverage concocted to pair beautifully with food. Given that non-alcoholic drinks generally fail in this effort, Cascal is a welcome addition to the market and the black current variety is especially good.

Nau Men's Palm Pullover Hoodie

We’ve been a bit sport this Monday. You can blame the warm weather which sending us out onto the trails and bicycle for a blast of fresh air. To do either properly, you need comfortable technical gear that is functional. More importantly, it has to look great on. Nau’s Palm Pullover hoodie above is one of those strong tops that does both. The “featherweight” fabric on the Palm Pullover is cut to form and feels great on. Like all Nau products the fabric is made from 100% recycled polyester. The asymmetrical zipper is an added touch that helps cinch down the hoodie. Well proper for both casual and sport wear.

Rancourt & Co Shoecrafters Loafers for Leffot

Leffot delivers some beautiful leather loafers for the boys looking to prep out ivy style. They’re made by Rancourt & Co Shoecrafters in Lewiston, Maine of all places (there is a special place in my heart for Lewiston). “These shoes are completely hand sewn on true moccasin construction so your feet are wrapped in cordovan top and bottom. Handsewn cordovan is extremely labor intensive. It takes the sewer approximately seventy percent more time to sew a cordovan shoe because there is simply no margin for error.”
