The “Boots” t-shirt is part of a range of goods Yohji Yamamoto has designed exclusively for the V&A in conjunction with current retrospective exhibition on the designer. The tee features a graphic print of Yohji Yamamoto’s beloved military boots, which he is seldom seen without. A key part of his aesthetic, both female and male models often wear them during runway presentations.

Summer has given Ben Sherman to further stretch the Modern Classics line with a trio of outerwear pieces. “Crafted from selvedge cotton and half chambray-lined – the blazer is ideal for Summer, and brimming with quality authenticity. Workwear influences can be noticed in the form of elbow patches and flapped pockets, while tailoring detailing ever synonymous with the brand are ever present, the working cuffs a prime example.  The Waistcoat, also slim-fitting and chambray-lined, is complete with cinch at the back to provide an extra tailored fit. As with the blazer, the waistcoat is made from selvedge cotton and finished off sweetly with wooden button closure. The mac’s beauty is in the details – Tattersall check lining, Corozo nut buttons, belted cuffs and a storm closure at the neck. As with the waistcoat and blazer, the mac is slim in its fit, and a very fine addition to the Modern Classics collection.”

Two chilled-down striped numbers from the Fred Perry line for Summer 2011. The silhouette may be common but the striping gives them a distinct look which will help your kicks stand out on the pack of dirty whites trainers littering your city streets. Brown laces finish them well. (sfspain)

Here’s an in-house boat shoe with chukka styling from Barneys New York. The Italian-made shoe comes in a dark brown finish and features a pronounced stitch detail on the sole (is it jute?).  Takes some strong queues from Japanese takes on this silhouette from a few years back.

Joon Jung’s “Natural Speak” is both a speaker and a pieces of home decor. The porcelain cage which makes up the exterior of the unit allows for “natural reflection” of sound. The sound inside is amplified through a ceramic and wood contstruction, making it slightly echoing in sound (some may prefer this). Worth a look. From Studio Joon & Jung.

Sleek No.29 features this excellent editorial. “Paris,Texas” as photographed by Markus Pritzi and styled by Isabelle Thiry. Model, Paolo Anchisi, works against a Parisan backdrop which laces in elements of “Americana” inspired looks while pulling some references from the film, “Paris, Texas” (we imagine). (smx)
