We’ve spoken about Lot 78 a galaxy ago, but we’ve just been sent their newest collection and whaddya know? We like it. As you’d expect for a company specialising in leather jackets, it’s a noir affair. In fact, we feel a little out of place talking about this now, when we’re generally thinking about linen – that aside, it’s one to keep an eye out for, especially as it’ll be in Barneys come next season.

While we look at the whole tie spectrum, we’re strictly knitted tie fellows. We dip in and out with other tie styles, we might even do a Schwarzenegger and have a couple of other styles on the side, but we always come back to the knitted tie. Which is why we’re fans of this Charvet number. Several colours have fell in at Mr Porter, but we’re fans of the forest green version – it’s got that ‘goes with denim, washed denim and chinos’ versatility that we’re looking for. (Mr Porter)

The mention of the Barcelona club will either incite you to keep reading or to toss a fist at your viewer. We’re happy that the Spanish club raises emotions in one direction or the other. Barcelona’s new home kit, developed by Nike for the 2011-2012 season, remains very true former editions: the burgundry, the striping… it all of course remains. “The black [away] shirt features a distinctive black and grey graphic on the shoulder reminiscent of the Catalan flag.”

Most important is Nike’s continued use of 13 reclaimed water bottles to produce the polyester that makes up the jerseys while saving your landfill.

With an existing space in Liverpool Street, Grenson have just launched a Spitalfields store. It makes sense – thriving area, new home of menswear in London and all that jazz – and it also looks good. So it’s a win win.

“Larger Than Life” brings new works by Michael De Brito to New York and inaugurates the latest space of the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery. The show marks the first multimedia exhibition in the gallery’s history, with De Brito utilizing different mediums to trigger the senses. Nine large scale oil paintings are accompanied by De Brito’s first ever video installation (this is a show of firsts, for sure) and also a full replica of the kitchen used by the artist as a common scene.”

Where they’re aren’t any essentials in menswear, a gillet is a versatile piece to have in your arsenal. This Folk gillet just fell in at Oi Polloi and it’s a great layer to have when the you don’t want to wear a jacket but still want something on top of a shirt. Or maybe you just want to show off those guns you earned at the gym. Heck, maybe you want to wear this with no shirt underneath, The Style Blogger style. We’re not judging, it’s a free world. Forgive our lateness on this one – we assume we’re late because the rest of the net loves Vans like a fat kid loves Krispy Kremes – but we just noticed these Vans. With all the flower power running through menswear right now you can either take it one of two ways. Either you (a) avoid the whole thing, shaking your head and saying ‘SMH’ in all your tweets or you can (b) stock up on all the floral goodness going around before you’re relegated to trawling through vintage stores for your fix. Obviously, we’ll be doing the latter, we’ve tried trawling through vintage stores for floral – it’s not a pretty sight. (Firmament)

Forgive us for the bomber barrage we’ve been laying on you guys lately, but we’ve got a thing for them at the moment. This one’s a 60/40 cotton linen affair, so it should be light enough to wear in spring without sweating like a p.i.g.
