There (sadly) comes a time when even the most lightweight coat becomes a bit much for summer. Sure, you can still wear it, but who wants to be the guy sweating it out in the name of looking good? So, it’s time to downgrade to a light cardi. 01. 1933 All-Star Game

“Baseball’s newest contribution to the romance of American sports, the All-Star Game, made its debut on July 6, 1933, at Chicago’s Comiskey Park. It was initiated at the insistence of Arch Ward, a sports editor for the Chicago Tribune, to coincide with the celebration of the city’s “Century of Progress” Exposition. By the 1930’s, baseball had already established itself as America’s favorite pastime and the national exposition provided the perfect stage to introduce baseball’s best to the rest of the country. Vermont’s own Johnson Woolen Mills locked in a European licensee less than one year ago and already they are working some exclusives for the continent coming in Spring/Summer 2012. Three select jackets will be available as “EU only” units. We find it interesting that the elusive line has found some serious looks from the community here at Bread and Butter.
