TwinLuxe Shaving and Skincare Kit

twinluxe 1 TwinLuxe Shaving and Skincare Kit

Highsnob points us at this shaving and skincare kit from the Twinluxe family. “In the world of mens shaving skincare there is usually not too much going on, at least nothing in comparison to the women’s cosmetics world. This week we come across an interesting new line, TwinLuxe. The outcome is a fine collection of skincare and shaving accessories, designed by the same designer, who was also responsible for the Rolls-Royce Phantom car line-up, which sounds very promising.”

With a forward by Ralph Lauren, Gary Cooper: Enduring Style Preview | Gary Cooper: Enduring Style Book functions as a monograph of style and an ode to the actor’s elegant style. Rooted in the American ideal of the everyman hero, Cooper’s mixed tailored European pieces with American sportswear, forging a distinctly American (yet thoroughly international) look that would become the blueprint of the masculine all-American wardrobe.

The book compiles many never-before-seen photographs, many by Cooper’s wife Rocky, and compliments the images with thoughts from authors G. Bruce Boyer and Maria Cooper Janus.

Gary Cooper: Enduring Style Preview | Gary Cooper: Enduring Style Book releases this November from powerHouse Books.

Dockers “Alpha” Khaki

YouTube Preview Image

This fall, Dockers will launch the ‘Alpha’ Khaki, a slim fit trouser designed to wear like jeans. With over-lock stitched seams and a heavy weight fabric (which will capture the personality of the wearer), the ‘Alpha’ Khaki marries the aesthetic of the chino with the attributes of denim. Twelve colors will be available.

To mark the introduction of the ‘Alpha’ Khaki, Dockers has collaborated with New York City’s first barber shop/cocktail parlor – the Blind Barber.  Located in the East Village, the Blind Barber was the backdrop for Dockers Fall 2011 campaign and featured the founders and staff wearing the Alpha. Cass Bird photographed the campaign, which also includes the above video.

A detailed look at the “Alpha” khaki from Dockers after the jump.

Oliver Spencer Bedford Shoe

Selectism - oliver-spence-bedford-shoe-01

Here’s something for the man who can’t get enough red bricks in their life. Mr. Spencer has just released the Bedford shoe, the newest addition to his growing range. The main difference between this and most red brick shoes is that the sole’s much slimmer than other versions, making them easier on the eye for chunky sole haters. The fact that it’s a dainite sole is a nice touch. Especially for anyone who’s had the horror of realising that smooth red brick soles are like wearing roller blades in wet weather. It’s not available in stores yet, but look for it as part of their autumn/winter drop.

TOKEN Lounge

Selectism - CobbleLounge side0001 540x360 TOKEN Lounge

We’d bet that right now some terrible brand is annoyed we’re showing off a chair instead of their goods:

“With their Lounge chair, TOKENnyc evokes the late 50s/early 60s Gotham high style. The cantilevered wooden frame is fitted with felted wool and cashmere upholstered cushions, melding sophisticated lines with a historical reverence.”

Perks and Mini ‘Furrow’ Top

Selectism - perks-mini-reversible-top-01

We’re gonna ask this very serious question. In fact we’re so serious right now we’re doing that ‘professor holds his chin whilst praying pose’ that smart people use. All this to ask one question; is a reversible top doubling up on your money? We ask because we want to know. And yes, this is the most important question in human history. (Someday)

Dries Van Noten Taimen Jumper

Selectism - dries-van-noten-taimen-jumper-01

So are we out of season or visionaries brought from the future? Obviously the latter.  Although we’re starting to see ‘fashion’ brands get a bashing from the mens style clique, even they like a bit of Dries. The fact that it’s a relatively subdued jumper in comparison to, say, a Band of Outsiders fur coat doesn’t hurt either. (LN-CC)
