Feature: Bentley Factory Tour: The Wood Shop

bentley factory tour 540 Feature: Bentley Factory Tour: The Wood Shop

The private Bentley Motors opened the doors of their Crewe, England factory to give us an inside look at how a truly custom and hand-made luxury automobile is produced.  From the stitching on the steering wheel and seats to the interior paneling, Bentley takes true care in ensuring that each and every detail found on their vehicles has been worked and inspected by their highly trained “family” of specialists and craftsmen and women.

While love and appreciation to detail in an automobile is often seen from the exterior first, today, we profile how the interior wood paneling inside all Bentley Motor vehicles are produced through a complicated process of materials sourcing and hand crafted design.

AHTE. No, we’re not misspelling hate, that stands for ‘all Harris Tweed everything’ – a cause we can all get behind in this day and age. It’s certainly a cause F-Troupe believe, as they’ve released a tweed heavy range for this autumn, which includes these lovely Chukka boots.

See more of ‘em after the leap.

Duffer High Summer Campaign

Selectism - duffer-campaign-01

It’s currently new campaign galore on these streets. Duffer throw their hat into the ring with this ‘high summer’ campaign. High summer’s one of those ridiculous terms that fashion tends to use, we rank it just below ‘colour blocking’ in terms of silliness. With photography from Neil Bedford and styling by Stephen Mann, they’ve got several of London’s luminaries from the acting and music scenes to showcase the brand in all its glory. Whereas can you see Goldie and the genius who brought you Anuvahood in one place? Nowhere, that’s where. Now take a leap to see more.

Paul Smith for Leica Camera Cases

Selectism - leica-paul-smith-camera-case

Can’t afford a Leica? Say hello to the next best thing. Paul Smith has teamed with the camera company to produce these camera cases for their Leica D-Lux 5 (and the Panasonic equivalent). Of course, if you can’t afford a Leica of any kind you can always carry this around and pretend. It’s limited to two colours, with only 150 of each colour available worldwide. Well, we say worldwide but we actually mean the Leica store in Mayfair and Paul Smith stores in the UK. Happy hunting!

Curated lets us know about this:

“Jonathan Ducruix, professionally known as ‘Me&Edward’, is responsible for this fascinating photo manipulation project.

“Metamorphosis is a concept about the unlimited transformations of human body. Just like a chameleon, it’s fitting, just like a virus, it’s mutating, just like a personality, it’s changing. Something new is about to birth, a metamorphosis, an organic complexity.”

Alfred Sargent ‘Ramsey’ Double Monkstraps

Selectism - alfred-sargeant-double-monkstraps-01

We hope all you mens style bloggers can contain yourselves for this post. We don’t know how it’s happened but pictures of double monkstraps have become the holy grail for all these highly original tumblrs. Our personal issue with Monkstraps still remain – they’re just too spiffy for us – but they are undeniably handsome. To make a clunky analogy, they’re a bit like that person who’s technically pretty but you’re just not that into. (A fine pair of shoes)

Tender Bias Cut Trews

Selectism - tender-type-133-trews-01

We like Tender. We like Orange trousers (odd thing to like, but it’s true). We like straight leg trousers (they’re a nice antidote to all the slim fit ones in our wardrobe). So us liking these Tender orange straight leg trews was as obvious as, errrmmm, something really obvious. Sorry, it’s early and the bad joke machine in our brains hasn’t quite kicked in yet.
