Corduroy just seems to transcend trends. Deciding whether it’s ‘in’ or ‘out’ is pointless, corduroy doesn’t care. It’s been around forever and as long as there are country gents, university professors and dads it’ll continue to hold a special place in the fabric hall of fame. Yuketen’s A/W range has recently begun to filter onto the shelves of retailers around the globe, with a number of revised classics having resurfaced for the new season alongside several more progressive styles. Exploring the later, we thought it apt to highlight the Wingtip Ghillie – a standout addition to their eclectic footwear family. The Wingtip Ghillie has been handcrafted in California, as are all of their products, and sits atop a thick ripple sole; made from beautifully rich black leather with acorn contrast stitching, the shoe is nicely finished with rustic brogue detailing across the toe caps. After several previews, we can give you a more detailed look at the new collaborative collection by Sebago and Filson. The collection features the sophisticated Filson Tin Cloth material mixed with Sebago’s high quality leather to create durable outerwear, accessories and footwear. Included in the collection are mid top and high top boots, a jacket, as well as a series of bags, which all stay true to the heritage of both brands. Look out for a release in stores in the near future.

Gymphlex’s One Nine Zero Six capsule collection, headed by designer Jeff Griffin, has been very well received in recent months. The range aims to combine Gymphlex’s experience in traditional English sportswear and Griffin’s keen grasp of utilitarian attire, all whilst nurturing valued relationships with British manufacturers, to ultimately craft garments (in Britain) that are to be welcomed into a contemporary wardrobe.
One of their key designs for AW11 is the military inspired Drawstring Parka, made available in three fabrics; waterproof Ventile Cotton, heavy Melton Wool (pictured) and washed Cotton Panama. The Parka, in it’s various guises, relies on the quality of construction and base fabric to set it apart from competition, arriving as a clear indicator of the brand’s understanding of staple outerwear. -jr

4 Stroke, based in New York City, makes contemporary denim on the back of 120 years of manufacturing experience. Tobias Levine is the creative director. He likes motorcycles, tattoos, and leaving Las Vegas.
Where are you from?
New York City.
How did you start?
I started when I joined Aalfs Manufacturing in 2007. I started in sales, a year and half ago I designed the men’s collection for 4 Stroke. We had a cool meeting with Cone Denim Mills and have just gone to town from there.
What are the key features of your brand?
Custom woven selvedge denim. Ability to turn goods in a short time. 120 years of denim knowledge goes into all the sewing, pattern cutting and trims. We own and operate our own warehouse, which helps so much with shipping large and small orders. We have three fits, everything is real consistent across the board and everything stems from the same block.
What’s it like being part of PROJECT 10?
This is one of the proudest moments for our brand. It is a great showcase and we are honored. Retailers have been really impressed with the positioning and that is terrific too. We are just exited to be here.
Finally, what is your favorite thing about Vegas?
Leaving.

The second generation of Bentley’s iconic Continental GTC convertible will debut at next month’s International Automobile Exhibition (IAA) in Frankfurt.
Taking cues from its GT coupe sibling launched last year, the new Continental GTC builds on the highly successful foundation of the previous cabriolet, which premiered in 2006. While the first Continental GTC was elegant and understated, the sharper radii and assertive stance of the new model delivers a more contemporary and muscular presence. The four-seater luxury convertible features a new, even more spacious and luxurious hand-crafted cabin, with soft-touch leather hides, an extensive range of wood veneers, cool-touch metals and deep-pile carpets. There are 17 standard soft-touch leather hide colours with six colour split combinations, complemented by a range of seven veneers. Not to forget about the powerful 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 engine as well as a new QuickShift transmission enabling faster gear changes than ever before. Power output is raised from 560 to 575 horsepower.
The car will celebrate its debut on the streets towards the end of 2011.

Yasar, co-founder of A Kind of Guise, has started Vegas well at the tables. He also tells us the name of his company comes from watching The Wanderers and then having an idea of creating for a certain type of guy. His vision hits ours too.
Where are you from?
Munich, Germany.
How did you start?
It started with a small bag collection. We bought leather from a medicine ball manufacturer from Italy and made a small leather duffle bag collection. The demand was there, so we continued. The second collection included some shirts and pants. And, since then (2 years ago) that has been the model.
What are the key features of your brand?
Everything is produced in Germany. That is the main thing. We try to keep things as local as possible to support where we are from. We take care of function, quality, and promote classic and simple item.s
What’s it like being part of PROJECT 10?
A pleasure. It is our first time in the United States. We’ve met many creative and inspiring people here.
Finally, what is your favorite thing about Vegas?
That I won $180. My first time ever on roulette.

Given that a good percentage of team Selectism is sight impaired, it was only natural to rope some eyewear into our PROJECT 10 fold. Rainer Metz, Lunettes Kollektion sales manager, shared his thoughts on the brand and highlights from the brand range.
Where are you from?
Berlin, Germany.
How did you start?
I got to know the brand because I am a stylist. I used the glasses in a shoot, and the brand owner loved them. After that I stayed, worked in the shop, and was asked to join them at a show in Munich and then became sales manager.
What are the key features of your brand?
A mix between traditional classic shapes with a modern twist. In all most every frame you’ll find a matte material, or something else new, or a play on a vintage shape with a quirky detail. A modern timeless collection.
What’s it like being part of PROJECT 10?
It’s quite exciting to get a new perspective. I’ve seen several trade shows now, and this is a nice small niche between so many brands with a different approach to what’s being shown here.
Finally, what is your favorite thing about Las Vegas?
I’ve been in jet lag since I arrived. It is a world of its own. You never have to step outside and you can just lose track of time. It is a special and unique feeling.
