This year at PROJECT Las Vegas, we’re proud to have curated PROJECT 10.

The season PROJECT 10 brings together a group of brands that the emerging tailored performance trend. These brands represent a community of artisans that create product for a man that works hard and plays hard. He is inspired by a design and function and looks for recreational attire that represents his overall sense of style. He is a city-dweller with a voracious appetite for sport, yet whether surfing, biking or camping, he demands not only quality but also innovation.

Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing each brand’s story and their latest collections.

Even though New York brand Supreme is certainly more of a Highsnobiety topic, we cannot deny that we also take a look every season at what the brand is bringing out and most of the time we come across a couple of items that we do love and cannot resist reporting on.

The brand just presented their new Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection today, which is coming to stores August 27th, as well as to their soon to open London flagship store on September 22nd. The one item that we could not take our eyes off, was the leopard lined trench coat. Simple appearance in three classic colorways, yet the small Supreme box logo pin on the corduroy collar and the leopard lining, which can also be removed. Really dope!

Another new one from Eastland’s Made in Maine collection. The Wildwood USA Boot is an 8inch wedge boot (leather stacked heel), hand-stitched from Horween leather in a mocassin style cut. A tall one for the gentleman out there. See them at (capsule) in Las Vegas this week.

TOPMAN delivers this all-over print henley with a floral, of course. Form fit, the polo a perfect addition to the season and an easy buy. Alter has it.

This jacket popped up on GQ recently. “2011 has been the year of the bad-ass racing heroes collaboration… Wicked Quick’s Carroll Shelby collection. Several pieces hit LA boutique Kitson today, and will continue to be released throughout the fall.” This Cobra team jacket starts it off well. Look for a further full collection to begin in Spring 2012.

The no label, Freshjive brand bring us a special preview look at the four themes in the collection for Spring 2012. The themes, RMK, City Noir, Immigrant, and Less Than Zero, imagine the line in clearly distinct takes: “RMK” pulls from the 50’s rock and teddy boy looks, “City Noir” “is inspired by the cinematic genre  of film noir with it’s emphasis on cynical attitudes, sexual motivations, and the particular backdrop of the dark  metropolis.”

The “Immigrant” theme pulls from the hispanic history of Los Angeles. “Colors and styles are subdued  for the most part, with very subtle hints of ethnic influence, mixed together to allude to clothing as practical necessity for survival rather than fashion.” “Less Than Zero” is, well… you basically need to rent the movie. Think over-privileged crashing…

Joe Morissey of Riccardi Boston gives us his take on the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection from Alexandre Plokhov

I am a huge Cloak fan so when i first learned of a new solo project I was elated. Since he disbanded Cloak in 2007 Alexandre had been working at Versace Uomo where he cultivated the production experience necessary to see that the new Plokhov line would succeed where Cloak failed.

Equipped with a more refined sense of construction and manufacturing he has donated his knowledge to the impeccably built garments that are now in store. Uniform and protection are still strong concepts capable of building a collection around today as they were when Cloak was redefining the modern man’s wardrobe in 2005. Asymmetric flap jackets with razor sharp sleeves and calculated lopsided drape blazers stand out to me as necessary items for my own consumption.

A jersey cardigan with diagonal flap breast plate and strap along with the high collar puffer jacket in wool. Square cropped blazers adorned with mid sleeve zips and long back hoodies round out the well edited offering that will satisfy the mature man in search of something special in a sea of sameness. While the descriptions sound heavy with details upon inspection the items remain clean and subtle.

We featured Rin Tanaka’s ‘King of vintage Part 2′ book last week showcasing Larry McKaughan’s archive, now we turn our attention to his Heller’s Cafe collection. Particularly strong on outerwear these Jackets for AW are reproductions of the highest quality as you’d expect. Shawl collars, denim chore jackets, varsity patches – lots of nice touches in terms of details, contact the guys direct for more info. -ld

These Beams+ socks over at Oi Polloi look too good to be hidden under your boots. We’re not suggesting you wear them on your hands or anything but a well timed bit of ankle exposure every now and then seems a must if you’re going to invest in such a impressive piece of Japanese Marl goodness. -ld
