“Inspired by the groundbreaking Nouvelle Vague movies of Jean-Luc Godard, most prominently a café scene in his 1967 classic “Two or Three Things I know About Her”, The Generic Man presents this fall’s collaboration with Comme des Garçons SHIRT. A Generic Man classic, the Wingman has been given a revamp by Rei Kawakubo’s iconic brand, resulting in a style that stays true to The Generic Man’s effortless take on luxury while adding the avant garde twist that has made Comme des Garçons SHIRT a favorite among fashion insiders.”

Highsnob gives their take on the debut issue of Garage. “The much anticipated Garage Magazine will release its first issue for Fall/Winter 2011. Named after the art space that founder Dasha Zhukova opened in 2008 in Moscow, nobody really knows what to expect from the fashion/art magazine, yet expectations are certainly high. The art director of German 032c magazine is also the new art director of Garage magazine and the three covers for the first issue, only hint at the high profile talent that the magazine managed to bring together for its first issue.”

Christian Louboutin Footwear for Autumn/Winter 2011

A wide showcase from the Christian Louboutin collection of men’s footwear. While many are familiar with the spiked affairs that have made the designer famous across various outlets, there is a gentler side to be explored. Red accent tassel loafers should not be overlooked. Textured trainers work well on the other end. (brieuc75)

Albam, Antikmodern Furniture
The folks at Albam alert us to a new addition to their Shoreditch retail space beginning September. Something to sit on rather than put on, they’ve gone into Partnership with Antikmodern, collectors and sellers of midcentury furniture including names such as Ercol, Ole Wanscher and Eames. Albam co-founder James Shaw initially approached them to purchase a dining table he’d seen online but when he found out they were in need of a storefront a collaboration seemed an obvious move. A match made in lifestyle goods heaven. -ld

Garbstore Lner Blazer

Garbstore Lner Blazer

There was a time when uniforms were more than generic branded fleeces and ill-fitting synthetic trousers. If the continuing interest in all things ‘work’ is anything to go by there is a definite desire to return to the well-made, functional uniforms of old. Take this blazer from Garbstore. Based on the 60’s/70’s British Rail jacket the West London label has gone that extra mile and tracked down the original supplier to create this piece. British wool, canvas arm and body patches, cap and whistle optional. -ld
