EASTPAK By Kris Van Assche Backpack

EASTPAK By Kris Van Assche Backpack

In the early part of 2011 we briefly introduced the Kris van Assche x Easpak Autumn/Winter collaboration, eagerly anticipating its release. Now, as the range begins to appear at various retailers on and offline, we thought it time to provide focus on one of the key items from the line, the classic rucksack.

The nylon rucksack comes in a trio of warm autumnal shades; a medley of browns and burnt orange sit alongside cooler accents in the form of grey shoulder straps with silver coloured hardware. The bag introduces the elegant, minimal house-style of KvA atop a typically Eastpak silhouette, boasting multiple pockets, a removable document holder and an interesting key clip. The clip, though a small accent, acts as a terribly symbolic addition to the piece – merging contemporary style with great functionality. Now available at Diverse Clothing. -jr

Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket

Patagonia have over 50 years experience perfecting outdoors attire, consistently (and rather humbly) turning out garments that are fit use in both an urban or rural setting. The pioneering brand are often overlooked, yet have and do continue to inspire a great range of contemporary labels who more readily frequent the menswear spotlight. The Torrentshell is one of their key designs, worth highlighting as we collectively approach the grand Summer/Autumn transition. The lightweight jacket is entirely waterproof, produced from 2.5oz 50-denier ripstop nylon and includes a range of clever features to help you brave the elements – a true outerwear staple. The Original Store has it. -jr

Maison Takuya iPad 2 Case

Maison Takuya iPad 2 Case

We have to admit it here, as much as we see the use of a case for the iPad or even the iPhone, we are not big fans of most of them. Usually they are bulky and take away a lot of the appeal of an otherwise already beautiful device.

Bottom line, the case has to be an upgrade, rather than a compromise in our mind. Today we come across the new iPad 2 case by Maison Takuya. The Japanese brand created these beautiful soft leather cases, which remind us both in terms of colors and style of French luxury brand Hermes. Mooded leather colors, tonal design, simple, but it does the job. They are now available from rumors.

Take a look at more colorways and ways of use of the cases after the jump.

Dunhill Club Sunglasses

Dunhill continue their line of classic, no-fuss accessories with these ‘Club’ sunglasses. Rodenstock lenses, UV protection, acetate and metal frame and a tastefully small AD logo on the arm. The shape is reminiscent of the Clubmaster but with a more squared off feel and wider front. The Havanas, a dark tortoiseshell are the stand out colourway in the collection but these can also be found in black and brown. -ld

Portrait Of United Arrows: Fall/Winter 2011

Portrait Of United Arrows: Fall/Winter 2011

Japanese retailer United Arrows presents ‘Portrait of United Arrows: Fall/Winter 2011′, a lookbook showcasing the collections that will be available in store in the coming months.

While there is still quite some heritage inspiration behind the lines presented, it is far less dominant than it used to be previously. We love the way the Japanese mix in camouflage, fur, knitwear and just the overall styling presented by the retail giant. They present a true modern city man.

Take a look at the full image lookbook after the jump.

b Store Brentwood Blazer

The b store Brentwood blazer gets a makeover with this grey wool ’salt and pepper’ blend. Shorter in the body and slim fit it features notched lapels, three front pockets and contrast white buttons. These guys really know how to create something casual but with a nod to tailoring, in terms of creating modern, accessible menswear it’s hard to argue with their consistency over the past few years. -ld

Leffot lets us know they’ve just received delivery of ‘The Fold’. If you’re not a fan of bulky wallets and just want something to protect your hard earned cash these might be just the thing. Somehow managing to sit between simple and flashy, a quick fold of the Horween shell cordovan leather and, as Leffort put it, ‘your cash is snugly secured in horse ass leather for safekeeping.’ Available in Rust, Natural, Oxblood, Natural and two sizes, this feels like the grown-up way to carry cash. -ld
