"The Pedro Almodóvar Archives" Book

Taschen continue to tease us. You wanna know why? Because they make books we want but need to justify buying. We’ll put this down as research if anyone asks. Pedro Almodóvar, one of our favourite filmmakers – an auteur if you wanna get fancy about it – is due to release this book, The Pedro Almodovar Archives The Pedro Almodóvar Archives Book, which looks over his entire work. There’s unpublished images, access to his archives, film introductions from famous Spanish authors and even a behind the scenes look from his latest film, “The Skin I Live In.” The book delivers in December. Available from Amazon The Pedro Almodóvar Archives Book.

Take a look at some spreads after the leap.

Henrik Vibskov 100 Days Boutique in Berlin

The 100 Days Boutique concept from Henrik Vibskov sets the designer’s collections inside temporary space which moves around the globe every 100 days per season, per city. Berlin’s Mitte is the current home of the traveling collection. Here’s Vibskov’s thoughts on the concept: “Inspired by all the travelling, and by not committing to a long term lease, we are free to experiment with spaces and installations and present the full collection – including showpieces, one-offs and pieces that were edited out of the collection before the show.”

Crockett & Jones Ashdown Shoe

Selectism - crockett-jones-ashdown-shoe-01

We’ve always liked a solid, classic shoe. We’re not adamantly against the multicoloured sole versions that are hot on the streets right now, but there’s a lot to be said for a shoe that can be worn in the presence of your parents. And if you’re gonna get a solid shoe, then you have to spend a little coin. So, please, do an Usher like U-Turn if you’re about to ask ‘but where can I get it for cheap?’. Spend the money, it pays for itself through decades of use. (A Fine Pair of Shoes)

Selectism - springcourt-wool-midtop-01

As long time readers know, we love a bit of Springcourt. However, they do have a bad habit of sticking the more interesting pieces into their womens line and leaving us guys with footwear that looks washed out and depleted. This season they’ve had a bit more fun with the mens side of things, making this woollen number. Now if they’ll just make their floral trainers in bigger sizes…..(Springcourt)

Christopher Raeburn for Victorinox Sentry Scarf

There are some interesting points to mention regarding the sentry scarf from the Christopher Raeburn for Victorinox. First, they were made in the same workshop that Karl Elsener, founder of Victorinox made the first Swiss Army Knife. A total of 100 scarves were produced and most important, they are all made from remnant Swiss Army blanket materials - over-dyed to give them their distinct look. Ron Herman has them.
