Oliver Spencer Spring/Summer 2012 Catwalk

Selectism - oliver-spencer-spring-2012-01

Also showing on menswear day is Oliver Spencer, one of the new school O.G’s – if that makes sense. The collection is what you’d expect from Mr Spencer, all relaxed tailoring, handsome knits and great shoes. We think the double breasted number above is the sort of thing that only Ray J and the money team could pull off.

See the collection for yourself after the leap.

hard graft Back2Back Bag

hard graft Back2Back Bag

hard graft brings their Back2Back messenger, rucksack, briefcase combination to the forefront. Finished in a clean brown leather, the Back2Back is more than roomy enough to jam and stuff with your daily essentials. While we would recommend keeping things light to save your back, hard graft claims the bag can house your laptop, mags with some room for clothing as well. A good look.

Louis Vuitton Island Maison in Singapore

Vuitton went well big in Singapore with their Island Maison buildout. “The Louis Vuitton Island Maison is one of the two stand-alone glass and steel crystal pavilions designed by architect Moshe Safdie as part of his overall design for the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort in Singapore. Visitors can access the Louis Vuitton Island in three different ways : via an outdoor bridge; by boat, disembarking at a jetty; and from the mall via a tunnel and ascending ‘travelator’ which leads them to the centre of the pavilion.” (ilvoelv)

James Small Spring/Summer 2012 Catwalk

Selectism - james-small-spring-2012-01

We know the focus at James Small’s shows will be on who attended – We heard some Mosses were involved – but the collection doesn’t need the celeb cosign. After all, with shedloads of sheer, patterned shirts and trousers we’d roll up on Ray J for, it’s filled with stuff we wish we had in our wardrobe.

Take a leap, see the rest.

Christopher Shannon Spring/Summer 2012 Runway

Christopher Shannon Spring/Summer 2012 Runway

Leslie Winers “Witch” album served as inspiration for the Spring/Summer 2012 Christopher Shannon collection. ”Check madras fabrics and classic college sweatshirts have been re-interpreted with collage prints for an Americana look. Shannon has continued the infusion of his signature clean menswear staples, fabricated in luxury nylons & adorned with textures that nods to the portrait work of photographers such as Viviane Sassen, Malick Sidibe and Zanele Muholi.”  One of the better collection on the casual end of the trend. Well done.
