Mugler Sudios works with Spire Boats on a new concept Spire boat to be shown at the Monaco yacht show. The “retro-futuristic” Spire Boat is inpired by 1950’s muscle cars…. “Board by board and curve by curve, this extraordinary boat morphed into shape. The finished product looks as if part of a movie set or just something that emerged from the depths of the ocean.”

Sebastian Tarek Collection for Autumn/Winter 2011

Sebastian Tarek is a shoemaker in the truest sense. Having worked at some of the most prestigious bespoke footwear establishments including world renowned George Cleverley he has turned his attention to his solo project, a range of modern mens shoes and boots made with all the craftsmanship and skill of traditional English makers. Customers are involved at every step, choosing styles, materials and fit. Sebastian then takes measurements and an individual last is created – an experience rather than a purchase, this is luxury in the old school tradition.

J. Press Bobcap Hat

Hats are a bit of an accessories danger area, so many pitfalls, so many potential mistakes to be made. We’ve spoken to actual real life scientists and they tell us that for everyone 1 person who looks good in a hat there are 12.3 who have created what can only be described as an awkward head situation. Pulling all our data together we have come to the conclusion that an unfussy beanie might be a safe (-ish) way to go. These examples from Ivy stalwarts J.Press take us back to our carefree days at Havard/Yale/Princeton. Re-live your happy headwear memories over at J. Press.

Beams Collection for Autumn/Winter 2011

Our hopes for the future are simple. Cures for diseases, stability, peace and the availability of our favourite Japanese labels in our own backyard. Yes, the last one is a little shallow but imagine being able to get your hands on all those impossible goods with minimum fuss, nice thought right? Having shown us how to do smart with the Mr David story we feature previously, as if to rub our faces in it Beams show us what’s up for Autumn/Winter on the more casual side.

C.P Company Wax Field Jacket

C.P Company Wax Field Jacket

C.P borrows a little from vintage wax jacket styles and military wear for this belted number. The jacket is dyed using modern techniques that give it an unusual coloration. All the technical elements you’d expect from the brand are present, as well as some nice detail in the form of a cord collar, elasticated cuffs, clasp closures, embossed pop studs, zip placket and 4 flap pockets. Tough enough to protect you from the elements, a great example of the labels continuing run of beautifully put together outerwear. Oi Polloi has them.

Epaulet Mash-up Gingham Shirt

Epaulet Mash-up Gingham Shirt

If we’re saying ‘yes’ to a mash-up it’s more than likely we’re talking about this shirt from NY store Epaulet than an ill-conceived conjoining of two popular songs from opposing genres. Gingham does just fine in one colour but if you fancy something a little more adventurous this might be just your thing. Slim fit, button down collar, trocas pearl buttons and mid-length tail, these come in a range of colours and with the following warning “Please Note: Each shirt is randomly composed, the images above will not necessarily match up with the actual shirt that you receive. It’s a little unpredictable, but that makes it more exciting!”

01. Apparat – Song Of Los (Official Video)

“Those with any level of interest in contemporary electronic music will recognize Berlin based Sascha Ring and his alias Apparat as one of the most prominent forces within the field. In addition to his three critically acclaimed albums, fans will also recognize Sascha’s work with Ellen Allien in which they formed the collaborative electro supergroup Moderat Selectism | Around the Web (half Modeselektor, half Apparat). With Devil’s Walk Selectism | Around the Web the highly anticipated fourth studio album from Apparat, Sascha once again raises his game.” (amazon Selectism | Around the Web)

02. Doubling In The Middle

“DISCUSSED: Epic Struggles, The Distance Between Masters and Hacks,Palindromic Taxonomy, A Convenient Ampersand, Cutting-Edge Work in Reversibility, Some Limitations of an Untrained Audience, A Strange Kind of Amazing, The Relationship Killer, Disproportionate Responses, A Surfeit of Calendars, A Deficit of Wool and Illusions…” (thebeliever)

03. Yes! Taco.

“Any food establishment with an exclamation point at the end of its name gets my vote, especially if it also includes the word “Taco”. These menus for a taco truck are printed on chipboard, giving them that tortilla feel that most taco places lack. The design is simple and the 2-color printing is enough to make it yummy.” (artofmenu)

04. Nobrow

“By sheer luck and an unreliable sense of direction, I discovered Nobrow on Great Eastern Street, in East London. What a gem! Nobrow is part shop, part studio and part gallery. The folks at Nobrow run both a small press of beautifully tactile illustrated books as well as a screenprinting studio. Here’s a look inside the gorgeous shop, a peek at a few of their lovely books, and look at the Masks exhibition by Ben Newman!” (notcot)

Selectism - lou-dalton-spring-2012-01

Stuff your Supreme store openings, today’s menswear day! And everyone knows streetwear is just fashion for the insecure anyway. One of our standouts from today is Lou Dalton, who made a collection stuffed full of great, wearable coats, blazers and some Swarovski crystal covered t-shirts that only Ray J could afford. You know he’s got seven Rolls Royces right?

See the collection for yourself after the leap.
