Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nimes continue to develop special project for their clients. The lastest is a 12 run of duck canvas jeans with the help of William Krol at Tender Co. Whole dyed cotton fabric as used in the production phase of the jeans. The weight comes in at 15oz – the same weight canvas used in tarp and sea bag production.

Lou Dalton kicks off Spring 2012. The new collection pulls inspiration from two “contrasting” themes: the “the harshness and desperation of the 1984 Miners’ Strike, and Matthew Bourne’s menacing male ensemble in Swan Lake. Yet both are symbolic struggles, whether it be the demise of the National Union of Miners, or the rise of the swan.” Mixed themes keep the collection fresh.

There should be a Blur reference every time we discuss Spring 2012. The idea of “leisure” continues to refocus the season into a more relaxed environment. Ozwald Boateng agrees. Their Spring/Summer 2012 offering looks to bring a safai-esque vibe to their collection. Drawstring pants, and light cotton shirts push “relax” in the proper direction.
