WWD brings us looks at the Spring/Summer 2012 collection from Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers. On Thom Browne’s work: “his men, meanwhile, will be just as ready for a weekend at the country club, i.e. a cotton pique sack suit with a bright pink blazer and green pants. Browne’s uberprep moment doesn’t mean he turned his back entirely on some of his earlier designs. Black Fleece’s hallmark red, white and blue blazer was still there, this time in a silk rep tie fabric.”

Folk continue to slow but steady expansion, this time launching a store in Mayfair. This one’s a bit out of nowhere, but it looks cool, keeping up the folk name. It’s mostly menswear but there are womens shoes available in store as well. If you’re about town, then drop in.

Christopher Lockett and Gary Nicholson are working on a new documentary on the use and need of typewriters in the 21st century. See their project on Kickstarter.

In May of 2010, Los Angeles-based filmmakers Christopher Lockett and Gary Nicholson read an article on Wired.com about “The Last Generation Of Typewriter Repairmen.” Casual conversation over coffee about the importance of the typewriter in world history eventually turned toward the inevitable conclusion that “this would make a good documentary.”
