Wings + Horns Sweatpants

Selectism - wings-horns-sweatpants-01

So have we decided on a fancy name for a sweatpants yet? There were a couple of good ones – walking trousers is a choice one – but nothing’s really stuck. Can we suggest ‘ruggedly handsome soft trousers’? It’s got all the makings of a name that’s popular right now – namely, the use of rugged and handsome – and lets you know that these are softer than your average trouser. On another note, we do advise that you save any washing up that needs to be done until you’ve changed out of these. Splashback is real. (Superdenim)

LOST PARADISE by Wing Shya

Thecorner.com features a new video from director Wing Shya. “Lost Paradise” is an eight minute feature filmed and produced in China. “An angel disguised as a demon and a troubled rock star meet in Macau- the exotic eastern city of vice, gambling and rock and roll. The result is an allegorical love story which evokes the sophistication of humanity and the fragility of dreams. Conflicting cultural themes are combined in startling ways, drawing the viewer into a world of inspiration and visual stimulation using conceptual reality and stream of consciousness images.”

Nudie Jeans House, Los Angeles, CA

Ask most denim retailers about Nudie and they’ll mention “introduction.” Nudie has become a household name in the denim world. Many denim geeks will mention how Nudie introduced them to the every expanding world of premium and super-premium denim. In some regard, it is a gateway denim that leads to exploration well beyond the borders of the brand.

Now, Los Angeles gets their first Nudie Jeans House, a standalone building that houses a “denim lab” that caters to a custom Nudie experience. Inside you can transform and customize your own pair of Nudie’s. Find the Nudie Jean House in West Hollywood off Melrose Avenue.

Stetson Caps for Red Wing Caps

Stetson Caps for Red Wing Caps

Stetson and Red Wing compliment one another in that American way. While the Stetson collection looks to have grown into fashion circles through the EU markets, they are seeing a strong return into the U.S.A. on the heels of the “return home” movement that looks to be sticking. Using Red Wing leathers, Stetson has developed four styles for the boot maker which include two eight-panel newsboy style caps, a trapper in sporting plaid, as well as an all leather ala Brando-style. Take a look.

D.S Dundee Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection

D.S Dundee point us towards their official Autumn/Winter lookbook. Lots of classic pieces to keep you warm and well turned out. If you’re a fan of tartan, corduroy and aran knits you’re in for a treat. Lots of grown up pieces that manage to look reassuringly old-fashioned and, well, reassuringly modern at the same time. Once again, the Scottish brand provides us with some smart solutions for Autumn Winter.

45rpm Autumn/Winter 2011 Looks

We take a look at 45rpm’s Autumn/Winter lookbook. Always high expectations with this brand and we’re certainly not disappointed this time around. Top notch denim (of course), indigo scarves, structured and unstructured blazers, cargo pants, heavy knitwear, leather jackets and more vests then you can shake a stick at. A lookbook that doesn’t take itself too seriously from a brand that unquestionably deserves to be. (mensrevierie)

YMC Camo Shirt

YMC Camo Shirt

Camo tends to divide people and we fully understand that many of you wouldn’t touch it with a barge-pole. The fear that you’ll end up looking like some sort of urban, new world order vigilante is present in all of us. However, YMC has a particular knack of making the seemingly unwearable, wearable. Various elements of military have been present in the majority of their past collections, and while this camo shirt certainly isn’t subtle, if you’re a fan of layering up it’s a great way to make friends with camouflage without entering into a serious relationship with it. Introduce yourself over at YMC.

S.E.H. Kelly Lambswool Rollneck Sweater

27 September 2011, 12.00 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

S.E.H. Kelly Lambswool Rollneck Sweater

S.E.H Kelly keep their line small but what they do produce is made with care, attention and a serious obsession with the details. This rollneck sweater is made in Nottingham by a family run firm with a 200 year history. The Yorkshire lambswool is spun, oiled and twisted and is as soft as a newborn kitten. Not one, not two, but three types of stitch are used; the moss, the two-by-one rib and plain, all with various functions based around retaining warmth, keeping the jumper flexible and making the whole thing look smart. Our favourite feature is the concealed pockets, a finger saver when you accidentally leave your gloves at home. Find it at S.E.H. Kelly.
