As you might have guessed, we like to lounge. We like lounging so much we’ve turned into connoisseurs. And for our money, Reigning Champ sweatpants are some of the best around. They’re a nice weight, not to slim (very important, what with fashion brands making near skintight versions) and have a slight taper that keeps it away from being overly old school streetwear. Blazers are great but these are just as good for a day when you don’t want to look like Patrick Bateman’s spawn. (Oi Polloi)

As winter starts threatening to rear its ugly head, things are about to change, wardrobe-wise. For the women, their looks are about to be replaced by Duvet-esque outerwear, but guys have plenty of options in autumn/winter styles.

Depending on where you are from, footwear can be one of the most important articles of clothing during the cold months. Yet, most of us wear the same kicks all year round, when a proper pair of boots may be more appropriate. For many guys, they stopped wearing ankle-length boots the minute they start high school, when mom does not have quite as much pull in the clothing sweepstakes. There is, however, usually a point in time after university where one realizes that a pair of Skytops are not proper substitute for a pair of chukka boots.

With that, we thought we’d show you some of Selectism’s favorite boots this season and maybe even share with you what we’re wearing them with.

Kapital lookbooks are always worth a flick through, the Japanese label prides itself on creating something a little out of the ordinary every season. You’re unlikely to find any white backdrops or harsh studio lighting when it comes to these guys. Travelling the world to shoot on some extraordinary terrains, this time they offer us ‘Colorado Hippies’, rocky, snow tinged goodness and plenty of eccentric layering you’d expect from one of Japan’s finest.

Anachronorm give us this superb indigo jersey henley, a shade of blue that just instantly makes us happy. The off centre buttons are a nice touch and never ones to scrimp on detail they’ve lined the neck with chambray fabric, thrown in some perfectly placed contrast stitching across the shirt and added button cuffs for a smarter feel. Cover yourself in camel hair with this Raf Simons cardigan over at Mr Porter. In a controversial move they’ve kept it camel coloured, this particularly fetching shade of light brown will forever be a reminder of the humped creature that went bald so you could get your knitwear kicks. That aside, we like the cable pattern along the sleeves, giving a relatively simple knit a bit of interest. Made in Italy, this slim cut cardie is a bit of a winner.
