Haversack Loose Chinos

Haversack Loose Chinos

Haversack have never been ones to keep things slim and here they are again, showing us the way forward with these wide leg, loose fit chinos. We like the Olive variety, military feel without all the unnecessary pockets and tabs. Herringbone cotton twill, minimal in terms of detail. A no-fuss pair of trousers. Good stuff.

The Duffer of St. George Selvedge Denim

The Duffer of St. George Selvedge Denim

The Duffer of St George have dipped their toe into the ‘premium’ denim market. The demand for a good, solid pair of selvedge jeans continues to rise, as do prices for some of the big names in the market. Duffer however have chosen to keep theirs affordable. 5 pocket, straight leg, redline jeans without the troublesome hefty price tag. We’re interested.

NN07 Prince 2 Jacket

NN07 Prince 2 Jacket

NN07 give us this herringbone jacket in light blue. We’re rather taken with the leather elbow patches for no other reason then they’re practical. Anyone who’s ever worn a thick wool jacket will have felt the sadness brought on by excessive elbow piling. We’ve tried operating without placing our elbows on hard surfaces but to be honest it just drew some rather suspicious looks. Two large hip, one breast and one inner pocket, single vent, find it at Number Six.

Comme Des Garcons SHIRT Merino Cardigan

Comme Des Garcons SHIRT Merino Cardigan

Beige isn’t boring. It’s actually the perfect colour for a cardigan. To be specific, a Comme Des Garcons SHIRT merino cardigan. There’s something very calming about the coming together of several shades of brown, this particular combination reminds us of a chocolate Neapolitan ice cream wafer sandwich. Basically, this is a soft gelato dream of a cardigan, the kind of thing you wear whilst sitting by the fire, listening to Jazz. Be-bop your way over to End.

BODY MILK PROJECT

01. Report: World’s oldest running car fetches $4.6 million at auction

“The world’s oldest running car, an 1884 De Dion Bouton Et Trapardoux Dos-A-Dos Steam Runabout, made history Friday, fetching $4.62 million at RM Auctions’ Hershey, Pennsylvania event. Before a packed house, the 127-year-old ride quickly eclipsed its $500,000 starting bid.” (autoblog)

02. BODY MILK PROJECT (above)

“Milk may be good for your bones, skin and hair, but in these very titillating photos it will get your pulse racing, too.” (feeldesain)

03. Comparing Big-Ass Smartphone Screens to 1950s Tail Fins

“This is the absolutist position, and I don’t agree with it. I don’t think 4-inch and bigger screens are silly or needless. For some purposes, bigger is better, and for people who value those purposes, these are better devices. What I believe is that 3.5-inches (or so) is the sweet spot — the best trade-off.” (daringfireball)

04. Icarus Stealth Track

“This is the first Icarus to be exported to the Ukraine, but if he keeps producing work like this, it won’t be long before Ian Sutton is getting orders from all over the world. Roma Skripchenko is the proud owner of the Stealth Track, and I doubt there’s been a slicker machine seen on Ukrainian streets.” (cycleexif)

Selectism - david-lynch-works-on-paper-01

If tumblrheads were to give David Lynch a tagline it’d be ‘you’ve seen his hair, now see his work’. Works on Paper David Lynch Works on Paper Book is the book to see his artwork in, collecting more than 500 drawings going back to the 1960s. His artwork was first shown off back in 2007 by the Foundation Cartier pouter l’art contemporain in Paris. If you missed that (we did) then this book is the way to see some of the inspiration to Lynch’s work. Available from Amazon David Lynch Works on Paper Book.

Highland 2000 Ribbed Hat

Selectism - highland-2000-ribbed-hat

We could rant and rave but, to put it simply, it’s getting cold out so put a hat on. The cable knit hat has gained some fans over the last few years but we’re still fans of a good ol’ ribbed hat. Especially when it’s in oatmeal, which is this season’s colour. Actually we don’t know if it’s this season’s colour – but anything’s preferable to the onslaught of red hatted hikers we saw last winter. (Superdenim)

FREITAG Opens First Tokyo Shop

Nothing beats those small boxy Tokyo flagship shops. Switzerland’s Freitag enters the city with a shop in the Ginza district. This is their first shop in Asia – a massive market, we all know. “Stocked with 1,200 unique bags in award-winning FREITAG V30 SkId storage racks, the store will finally relieve Japanese recyclopolites of having to look long and hard to find an individual freewaybag of their liking.” Find them in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
