Muuto Coffee Table

Selectism - muuto-coffee-table-01

We’re into coffee tables these days. Where else are we gonna put all those fancy books we’ve buying recommending lately? This Muuto version comes in a couple of sizes, so there’s one big enough for a good looking carafe and big enough for that book you was to showcase to any potential dates lucky enough to make it back in your flat. And yes, that is the only reason we ever buy coffee table books. (Yanko)

YSL Men's "Camo" Shoes for Autumn/Winter 2011

YSL adds a camo spin to the sole of their footwear for Autumn Winter 2011. It is an easy touch that adds just a dash of color(s) to their Teddy boot and Lug Sole laceups.. The uppers come in black or brown and pull inspiration from those 60’s military boots. Easy on the eyes.

Monsieur Lacenaire Reversible Snowflake Jumper

Selectism - monsieur-lacenaire-reversible-sweater-01

If you know anything about Selectism, you should know we’re the Harry Redknapp of menswear. We can’t turn down a 2 for 1 deal, especially when it’s by one of our favourite new brands Monsieur Lacenaire. They’ve made this reversible jumper which, before anyone asks, counts as a 2 for 1 offer. And hey, we’ve all seen the news, if you’re gonna spend money on new stuff it might as well be stuff you can turn inside out and wear on consecutive days. Probably best not to attend any ‘Occupy’ protests with this on though, you might end up looking like the hipster cop. (Mr Porter)

We’re not sure this falls anywhere close to our remit, but it’s too cool for us to keep to ourselves. We don’t even care how old it is really. (Notcot)

Raf Simons Collegiate Sweatshirts

Raf Simons Sweatshirts

Well, a bit collegiate we shall say. The new Raf Simons autumn sweatshirts could be from anyone based on the design. The simple block lettering suggests pulls from the university life. The quality and fit speak otherwise: “Made from a super soft structured fabric and available in three colorways, these sweaters perfectly express the designer’s take on volume and proportion, embracing a short, boxy silhouete best paired with slim fitting bottoms for added emphasis.” Por Vocacao has them.

Edward Green Top Drawer Footwear Collection

edwardgreen topdrawer 01 Edward Green Top Drawer Footwear Collection

Leffot introduce us to yet more fine footwear. Edward Green make some of the best shoes around but their Top Drawer collection takes it to another level. This is where ’smart’ becomes ’snazzy’. Yeah, we used the word ‘Snazzy’. Made with a more slimline feel these feature ‘a tighter and pronounced beveled waist, spade soles and finely turned edges.’ The Cuban heel goes against our current love for all things chunky but this is all about elegance and these guys do it just right.

Damien Hirst Panerai Paintings

damienhirst panerai 01 Damien Hirst Panerai Paintings

Damien Hirst, one of the artworld’s great show-offs, has taken apart luxury watches from Officine Panerai for a new series of work showing at the Triennale di Milano. These spin paintings entitled ‘Beautiful Sunflower’ and ‘Beautiful Fractional Sunflower’ were created by applying paint to a rotating canvas. Watch faces are then applied by hand, Damien claims to be an OP fan but with so many good timepieces losing their life for his work you really have to wonder. (Design Boom)

Levi’s World’s Oldest Jeans | Shibuya

Font of all Levi knowledge, Lynn Downey, takes the ‘World’s oldest Jeans’ on the road. This denim relic has earned celebrity status since it’s discovery. Gasps and flashbulbs as it enters the room with wide-eyed crowds gathered to leer and pay homage. We watch as it lands in the Shibuya store, Tokyo. A party is thrown in it’s honour and hi-tech security is put in place like a loyal bodyguard, ready to take a bullet for this double X dignitary. A Kevin Costner to indigo Whitney Houston if you will. Respect is due. (oki ni)

Ever reliable Japanese store Journal Standard have got together with Korean street wear brand Brownbreath to produce this capsule range for Autumn Winter 2011. Dyed canvas is washed through to give it that lived in look and used to produce two styles, the ‘Gravity Cross bag’ and ‘Discovery Waist bag’. Unlike most collaborative efforts this one has kept design minimal and is all the better for it.
