Crane tv give us a look around one of the most impressive 2012 Olympic Venues, the Velodrome. Six thousand seats and described as the most sustainable venue in the Olympic park, Engineers Andrew Weir and Klaus Bode talk through the structures eco credentials as well as its striking double curved shell.

Tom Kay, founder of Technical apparel brand Finisterre, spent his childhood by the sea, set himself up with a marine biology degree and went about challenging, in his words, “the villains of the day…big corporate surf companies making cheap cotton t-shirts in far flung, unnamed factories that they’d sell to folk who had never been near the water”. The aim was to keep production as ethical as possible, using recycled and natural products as well as keeping each stage of prodution traceable via the i-spy project map on their website. A brand with both a strong sense of community and of its responsibilty to the surrounding environment. We take a look at the Etobicoke, modelled by champion cyclist James Bowthorpe, the jacket is wind and waterproof, filled with primaloft eco synthetic insulation and tested on sherpas at the bottom of Everest just to make sure everything’s in order. Freunde Von Freunden take us into the Berlin studio of artist Andrea Golder. An old friend of the site, introductions are made.  ”I first met him a couple of years ago in the Z Bar in Berlin. A lot has happened since then and Andreas is now one of the best-established artists in the Berlin scene. It wasn’t like that from the beginning. Andreas Golder had to flee with his parents in 1990 from his home in Yekaterinburg-Russia to Germany. After seven years in the South German province love made him move to Berlin in 1997. This is where he started to study and still lives and works.”
