Selectism - mountain-research-down-shirt-01

We don’t blame you if you’re not into down shirts. They can be a bit fiddily, leading most people to use those dreaded words ‘hard to pull off’. But don’t fear, it’s not that difficult to wear. Just do what we do – get them a size too big and wear it as a jacket. (Garbstore)

Taken from 1999 to 2010, he started taking these images after finding an abandoned farmhouse  on a family holiday. grenson thenextdoor fred boots 1 Grenson for theNextdoor Fred Shoe

Grenson has not shortage of special make-ups but as we come to the closing of 2011, we’re happy to see they remain on point with the work. Their latest is a double boot calvary for France’s theNextdoor shop – one of their oldest accounts in FR. The Fred boot, with its wingtip accents, is treated with nylon mountaineering laces against either a black or beige upper (both with contrasting soles). No typical make-up here and worth a more detailed look.

Hong Kong - General Store

TS brings us a look inside General Store in Hong Kong. The shop brings that antique shop – meets men’s shop to the island. “As for Hong Kong, the demand has been increasing for similar shops to appear, and in recent years, local fans of the genre have been active in introducing this unique culture to the city. Although the items may not have been the best quality, but it had assisted the start of this trend and it is definitely something worth supporting. In late October, a pleasant surprise for the birth of the GENERAL STORE was found in Gage Street near SOHO district in Central.”

Outlier – Technical Merino Cardigan

Outlier - Technical Merino Cardigan

We asked Outlier to be part of our PROJECT 10 ensemble this year for a slew of reasons: their love for similar music, their independent steez and mostly for their to the point collection of garments with an active/technical wearer in mind. Their latest merino wool tech cardigan is a proper look. Made with “double faced merino/nylon fabric, done up with a shawl collar and custom Corozo buttons.” We overuse the word “clean” at time but that about sums it up. Available from Outlier.
