Jack Spade Apparel for Spring/Summer 2012

We tried to not give too much away with our Jack Spade Spring/Summer 2012 preview, but people got very interested in the postcard motifs. We’ll share all the accessories tomorrow, but for the moment, let’s focus in on their apparel, which bring seasonally proper looks that almost all gents can work with. The full-zip sweater and striped Milton and hoodie do the trick. Good to see Jack Spade continuing with garment end of their collection.

For those that missed it, you can view the Jack Spade Autumn/Winter 2011 garment collection.

Australia’s Chronicles of Never (or for those on the dark side, Chrønicles øf Never) has recently collaborated with the Harrolds on a capsule collection of denim and shirting that uses some great textiles including Italian jersey and Japanese denim. The two special washes on the denim were created by Chrønicles øf Never’s with the help of Harrold’s creative director,  Chris Kyvetos and compliment the collection which always carries a positive exaggerated fit on the garments. Worth a look in our gallery.

For all the years that we have been friend with the C-Store crew (and have we been through some stuff – ask Jason how they saved his life in Barcelona years back), they seem to never compromise on enjoying the very best in cuisine. They’re taking this love to a new dimension with their current work with Sandqvist. Together, they have designed a special apron and knife bag for Swedish masterchef, Niklas Ekstedt. Ekstedt, famous for his restaurant “1900,” the back door club “Kåken,” and books is set to open a new establishment under his name, “Ekstedt.”

C-Store and Sandqvist mark that opening with a knife bag and apron available exclusively through C-Store. Knives not included.

junya mackintosh1 Junya Watanabe, Mackintosh Fireman Jacket

We rarely dream about collaborations anymore. Most of the ones we hoped would happen have done just that. The rest have been executed with such varying degrees of success that we’ve become a little gunshy. No such fears when we first heard the words ‘Junya’ and ‘Mackintosh’ though. If the coming together of two brands could ever be a safe bet it was this pair. We continue our admiration with this fireman inspired raincoat. Sealed and waterproof, heavy buckles, corduroy collar, tartan lining another fine product from this perfect partnership. Find this Junya Watanabe x Mackintosh at Goodhood.

We take a look at the Part One in the series of ‘Conversations in Modernism’ from Ben Sherman. “For the first of our Conversations in Modernism, we brought together bespoke shoemaker Sebastian Tarek and music entrepreneur Alex Robinson to share their thoughts and experiences of being creative in the modern world. From childhood ambitions of wizardry to the apparent decline of craftsmanship in the digital era, the problem with progress to the unwritten rule of the grey shoe, the conversation flows through the lives and times of these two gentlemen, and explores much more in between.”
