Apartamento Issue #8

One of our favorite magazines has just released images of their lastest issue. Interior design magazine, Apartamento Issue 8 has Marcelo Krasilcic, Beda Achermann and Michael Stipe (who’s really getting around lately) amongst others. Only the cover is out right now but we will be sure to show some spreads when they surface.

And in case you missed them here are looks at previous issues of Apartamento.

Chester Mox #31 Double Snap Slim Wallet

Chester Mox #31 Double Snap Slim Wallet

Testing headphones and wallets are about my favorite things. Chester Mox is a new start-up in the hand crafted leather goods movement. Their #31 double snap wallet carries a clean 100% Chromexcel Tan Horween Leather finish. The leather is a bit thinner than most Horween leather wallets I have used, but at the end of the day, it is indeed Horween. Stamped with their mark on the front and a great gift for both guys and gals. And, yes, the marks you see on the top side of the #31 are from our actual use. Buff ‘em out with your thumb.

Selectism - Acne-studio-01

Paul Barbera’s ‘Where They Create‘ takes a look at studios and offices of the creative, this time stopping off in the Acne Stockholm studio. Their showroom used to be  a grand ballroom in the old banking days and it’s quite the sight. Looks like a great place to work/accidentally leave with a bunch of samples.

Take a leap to see more.

Another Look | Selectism by Tumi Alpha Four-In-One Duffle Bag

We’re very proud of the collaborative TUMI Alpha Duffle Bag we worked on this year. We love it so much that we figured it was high time to share our own looks and thoughts on the process. First and foremost, we need to thank TUMI for working with us on this project. We went through several revisions of the duffle bag before landing on what is a unique and new design to the TUMI line up. The four-in-one duffle is the first TUMI bag of its kind and built for our staff’s traveling needs.

The TUMI Alpha series was the inspiration for the Selectism duffle bag. The digital camo collection back in 2009 may have started it for us; this weekend duffle has been used by some on our staff for years now. Like most TUMI products, it has taken its fair beating through luggage returns and, as expected, performs as well as it did on day one. We believed that the TUMI duffle form was where we needed to start. With the help of TUMI we began to add in new features to make it even more versatile; the additions of the removable laptop sleeve, camera/day pouch, and tote bag came from these conversations and solved our specific needs which we’re sure others have as well. These features are the heart of our Selectism by TUMI Alpha Four-in-One Duffle Bag.

Video | Pedro Almodóvar on the Beauty of Women

Nowness visited filmmaker, Pedro Almodóvar, in a New York City hotel room for a discussion of “femininity and beauty in light of his current macabre pulp fiction movie, ‘The Skin I Live In.’” Talking to fellow filmmaker, Alison Chernick, Almodóvar connects the strong women in his films with the inspirations of his past inclyding Bette Davis and Katharine Hepburn. Almodóvar is known for classic Spanish titles including 1990’s “Tie Me up, tie me Down,” “All About My Mother” and the jarring “Talk to her.”

wings horns fall2011 men 1 Wings + Horns Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection

Our friends at Men’s Reviere give us a good look at the current collection from Canada’s Wings + Horns. We have been fans of the brand since well back in 2007 when their hoodies ruled the men’s market. Today, the line has grown beyond those bounds into a strong menswear collection that also features a few collaborative works with the like of Heritage Research (previewed at (capsule) Paris) and others. Buyers will find proper cold weather looks that much knits, parkas with Cone Mill U.S.A. denim. Proper garments for all men. More importantly, Wings + Horns is quality.

Alden Chamois Longwing Blucher Shoes

Alden Chamois Longwing Blucher Shoes

Alden wraps their classic wingtip blucher shoe with oiled tobacco Chamois leather for the Leffot shop in New York City. The buttery look of the leather gives these wingtips a look which is almost asking for a distressing; wear them and make them look like shoes should – worn. The lugged sole and water resistant finish will give them years of us. More than likely, these wingtips are a short run affair, so jump on them immediate.
