Buying a bicycle is basically opening yourself up to a whole new world of accessories and gadgets that you may or may not need. Your perfectly functioning saddle looks tired and worn out once you’ve seen that old school tan leather number. Of course, you can’t have a new saddle without matching grips, pedestrians will point and laugh. Now, where are you going to put all your repair tools? In a limited edition leather kit bag of course. Well, if you find yourself unable to pay rent, your bike looking more impressive then your own home, then save yourself some cash with these smart affordable  lights from Swedish company Bookman. Three flash patterns, they clip over your handlebars with an elastic pull and come in a range of lego inspired colours. Find them at Bookman.

britishremains creepers 01 British Remains Creepers

British Remains brings us some more U.K. subculture styling with these Teddy Boy inspired creepers. We’re so used to a chunky sole on a shoe that everything seems to have that stomping feel of late but this impressive piece of footwear makes no bones about it’s roots in Ted. Black suede, crepe sole, these are a collaborative effort with George Cox, the original producer of the brothel creeper. Find them at Goodhood. Click for more Read more

shadowpool 01 Shadow Pool: A Natural History of the San San International

T Magazine attempt to explain bizarre art happening “Shadow Pool: A Natural History of the San San International;” a project from artists Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe centered around an imagined world and a psychedelic convention so willfully odd that we still feel a little cross-eyed trying to figure it all out.

Get your head round it over here.

Stop It Right Now – Celine Print Skateboard

celine skateboard 01 Stop It Right Now Celine Print Skateboard

Remember when Yeezy wore that Celine shirt at Coachella and the section of the internet cordoned off for fashion blogs exploded? One of many ‘misunderstood’ performers to sport a blouse through the ages, finally Mr West had his Bowie/Morrissey/Liberace silk shirt moment, his place in music/fashion crossover history cemented. The thing is, that print was pretty amazing, if a little ostentatious, definitely something you’d have to have a good think about before putting on.

So, perhaps you’d be happier cruising around on one of these skateboards produced by blogger ‘Stop it Right Now‘? Seemingly a personal project, we’re still in the dark as to whether you’ll ever be able to purchase one but we’ve got to give the lady a round of applause for such a creative use of a jazzy shirt print.

Another great look from the 2011 New York City Rugby Tweed Run. Ralph Lauren does a solid job of bringing the tweed fans together with their old school, big wheel bicycles. Hoping we saw some old wood rim bikes as well. It looks to have been a very pleasant group ride through Manhattan. Via thinkfeel.tv.

From Red Wing Journal comes this great video short on the carving of the Crazy Horse Monument in the Black Hills, in Custer County, South Dakota. “Crazy Horse Monument – Five Against the Mountain” looks at the dedication and engineering feat of the men and women working on the site. Today, the Crazy Horse monument site remains under construction as it has been since 1948. When completed, it will be the world’s largest sculpture. A true look at a man’s art and craft. A nice feature from the Red Wing company.

Looks from Yuketen’s Autumn/Winter 2011 Footwear

Yuketen Shoes for Fall Winter 2011

Sundays are always a good day for reflecting on current collection. Here’s a look at a few of the many shoes and boots found in the Yuketen Autumn/Winter 2011 collection.  The leopard print ranger shoe, shown above, is one of the more unique looks from the collection. The crepe sole works against the leather quarter panels well, but we do wonder on the longevity of this look over time. Then again, fashion is seasonal; you can always move onto another pair. Dig through the looks for shades of mocassins, chukka boots and many others.

Available from retails around the world including Upthere in Australia.

More looks after the click.
