Pendleton’s collection for Eddie Bauer offers season-specific menswear including overshirts, bags, and scarves in iconic Pendleton patterns. While heritage is the trend, the true legacy players in this market continue to provide classic takes for all.

Interesting peek behind the scenes at Christopher Shannon Autumn Winter 2011. Plenty of quilting, jersey, fancy sportswear and embellished eyebrows. Whilst the video may not focus heavily on the clothing itself, what it does reflect is the attitude and stance of the label.

There was a time when street photography had a very little to do with how crisp your Goodyear welted oxfords were or how cleverly you managed to accessorize your double breasted blue blazer. A whole raft of amazing photographers looked to capture characters, unguarded moments and odd looking folk carrying on with their everyday business. Vivian Maier was one of the best. She was in fact a nanny for most of her life; shooting was her hobby. During her life Maier took more than 100,000 photographs, all of which went unseen until discovered by historian John Maloof a few years ago. Vivian Maier: Street Photographer, coming November 22 on Powerhouse, draws together some of her best work from the 50’s and 60’s in all its duotone glory. An interesting pair of cufflinks from Alice Made This, a small accessories label from Alice Walsh whose previous career as designer for the likes of Tom Dixon, De Beers and Habitat eventually lead her to branch out on her own. Each piece is designed around the materials and processes used to create it. Very little is added in the way of decoration, in fact much of what she produces has more in common with hardware than jewelry with the precision turning process commonly used in the development of parts for aerospace and engineering. The result is something pleasingly minimal, built to last, designed to change with time and wear. Mr Porter has them.

Generic Surplus unveil their Hillhurst Holiday 2011 collection. Five new stitch down models that offer a lighter take on some classics. Inspired by duck boots, work shoes, dress boots and oxfords, Hillhurst puts a more casual spin on them all employing suedes, felt and herringbone alongside the usual leathers. The brand has reached out to L.A DJs such as Franki Chan, Paul Devro, Zane Landreth and Kid Lightning as part of their own going relationship with the area’s mucic scene, all of whom will feature in the collections’s campaign.
