Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Sweatshirt

Selectism - sevigny-opening-ceremony-sweatshirt-01

This is a technically a streetwear piece but you know the drill by now, the lines are blurring, it’s all one jumble, yada yada. This Sevigny/Opening Ceremony/Vision Streetwear collaboration is basically the ’90s distilled into a single garment. And like Chloe Sevigny, it looks a bit odd but it works. Opening Ceremony has it.

Garbstore ‘Geography’ Style Knitted Tie

Selectism - garbstore-knitted-tie-01

There’s a shedload of ties out there but a lot of the new ties available are, shall we say, a little unsuitable for the sort of places where you’ll wear a tie. You find us the office where floral ties are encouraged and we’ll find you, ermmm, something that also doesn’t exist. A plain navy knitted tie will however will always be in style. Sorry about that last sentence, we were starting to sound like one of those classic menswear sites. Made in the U.K. from 100% silk. Garbstore has them.

Shelton’s House, Japan, by Intentionallies Architects

japan house 01 Sheltons House, Japan, by Intentionallies Architects

Shuwa Tei of Intentionallies Architects designed this home for a family and their in-laws. In a residential area on the outskirts of Tokyo, this home is a concrete gem causing much house envy. We’re not going to lie, we’re suckers for the over use of glass, wooden flooring and sliding doors. Design Boom had us at this description “upon entering, the interior opens gradually, beginning as a continuous living room. Seemingly carved from
a concrete block, the lower portion of the stairway unfolds into a series of open riser treads which cantilever
from the bounding internal walls”.
