Selectism - cuap-duke-iphone-case-01

We’re always on the lookout for an iPhone case, so getting one shot by CUAP is always gonna be up our alley. Sergei Sviatchenko has collaborated with leather goods company Duke on these five cases. Limited to 25 pieces worldwide, one’s made from calf leather and the other four are from watersnake leather. We like the snake versions ourselves. They seem like the sort of thing Kanye West would rap about. (CCA&A)

Nowness | Louis Vuitton’s New Timekeeper

16 December 2011, 16.59 | Posted in Accessories, Watches | No comments »

Louis Vuitton’s New Timekeeper on Nowness.com.

Nowness gives a nice behind the scenes look at the French luxury brand’s business in watch making, which they take like all things, very serious.

“Louis Vuitton unveils the inner workings of its new 18-karat white gold timepiece, the Tambour Minute Repeater, a collaboration with Swiss master horologists La Fabrique du Temps. True to the brand’s renown for handcrafted luxury travel accessories, Louis Vuitton’s Tambour employs complex mechanics to display one time while being able, upon request, to chime an alternative ‘home’ time.”

Comme des Garcons Document Wallet

cdg doc wallet 01 Comme des Garcons Document Wallet

Document wallets are a bit silly if truth be told. Don’t get us wrong, we love them but they’re awkward to carry and end up looking a bit like a clutch bag. That being said there’s just something about what is essentially a giant’s wallet that draws us to them. You don’t have to put documents in them, in fact we’d advise against it, they’d probably just tear on the zip on the way out.

Perhaps you can just hold it in your hand and pretend you’ve been shrunken by a malfunctioning Rick Moranis’ invention. If you choose this route we’d recommend this one from Comme des Garcons. Premium burgundy cowhide with an embossed diamond pattern, find yours at Oki Ni.

Cagoule Magazine Issue #1

cagoule magazine 01 Cagoule Magazine Issue #1

Magculture introduce us to Cagoule, a grown-up magazine from the folks who make excellent kids publication Anorak. If you ever get a chance to pick up the children’s version do, it’s a great piece of eye-popping design. The adult version keeps that same sense of fun which is what will set it apart from it’s rather more serious minded competitors.

In terms of content it jumps from subject to subject; history, comics strips, food, poetry,  fiction…what draws it all together is a sense of humour and a strong aesthetic which manages to be playful rather than silly. A cheerful, well-written read for anyone looking for something a bit different. Get yours here.

Bally Spring/Summer 2012 – Lookbook

16 December 2011, 14.00 | Posted in Accessories, Fashion | No comments »

bally ss12 01 Bally Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

We have a look at some Bally offerings for Spring Summer 2012. A top notch collection, Bally really has a knack of making something special out of casualwear. Throwing in smarter pieces here and there, everything looks, well,  we’re hesitant to use the word ‘luxurious’ but that’s exactly what they managed to achieve.

The wider leg trousers are a bit of a hit as is their retrained use of colour. The label continues to bring out the leather and suede, as accessory experts first and foremost they know how to use hides to great effect. A job well done. (emm)
