GQ’s Oral History of Menswear Blogging

GQ's Oral History of Menswear Blogging

GQ brings out the New York (and slightly beyond) guns to give their “oral” history of the menswear blogging movement. You can read the full article here on GQ. The four online-page affair is worth a read: the conversation jumps from the early mid 2000’s views to the common day world of re-blogging on Tumblr (which is the whole damn point of Tumblr). The content-wrapped shopping sites get some nods in there as well for blurring the line between editorial and commerce. Worth a read.

Win This | Poler The Napsack

13 December 2011, 18.00 | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 comments »

Poler The Napsack

PROJECT 10 2011 selection, Poler, gets into the holiday spirit with one of our favorite recreational camping wears of the year. The Napsack is a full body sleeping bag with arm hole zips and feet openings allowing it to be worn almost anywhere. A bit cold in the office? Throw the Napsack on a little extra comfort with full mobility. “The Napsack has zippers at the shoulders, so you can stick your arms out, and a cinch at the bottom so that you can open it up and stick your legs out. Hike it up to your waist, cinch it, and wear it like a puffy coat around the campfire, and then crawl right back into your tent without ever having to leave the warmth of your bag.”

We love the Napsack and Poler.

How to Win:

1. “Like” Selectism on Facebook
2. “Like” Poler Stuff on Facebook.
3. “Like” this post on Facebook.

It’s that easy. Contest begins today. Winners will be announced after December 24.

Other open giveaways happening now. Enter to win!

Bleu de Chauffe Spring/Summer 2012 – Lookbook

bleudechauffre ss12 01 Bleu de Chauffe Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

Blue de Chauffe is the name given to the blue work jackets worn by french train conductors in the early 1900s. It went on to find itself on the back of factory workers and became general wear for anyone considered, yes, blue-collar. Well, all this feels a million miles from this smart collection of bags but the brand tell us it’s all about inspiration. Indeed, the line has a very utilitarian feel about it and whilst you may not use yours to carry your railroad workers hat, these are built to suit just about every modern task. Another brand walking that modern/classic line, their Spring Summer 2012 collection may be their best yet.
