Outlier, Hyperlite – The Minimal Backpack

Outlier, Hyperlite - The Minimal Backpack

Hyperlite Mountain Gear works a new backpack for the boys at Outlier. Their Minimal Backpack is made using Hyperlite textiles and comes in looking very light indeed. Expect the white pack to get worked, which is of course the point of the pack. While we may not stuff bread directly into the back itself (keep it wrapped in paper)*, it does help show the volume of the Minimal Backpack. Hits home at $128. Find it online at Outlier.

* the gentleman at Outlier have informed us that those are bricks and not bread, which makes the bag all the more impressive. I would still have preferred bread sticks.

Hublot Big Bang Watch – Baby Million $$$$$

Hublot Big Bang Watch - Baby Million $$$

The first of two watches we’ll feature today. We’ll start on the high end; the very reaches of the high end.

While we tend to avoid pushing to many of those Hublot Big Bangs through these pages (seriously, the number of make-ups in the Big Bang now rivals that of Nike’s mid 2000 SB sneaker colorways), we did find one that tops all other Big Bang’s before it.

The Hublot Baby Million is an aggressive baller-style timepiece with more than 440 baguette diamonds and another 422 to accent the hell out of the unit. The bracelet alone rolls in at more than 20 carats. 18 carat white gold behind the scenes as well.

God bless the reader who is contemplating the $302,000 necessary to rock this. We give it the five “$” rating for ridiculous.

Selectism - leonid-tishkov-01

Here’s a look at the work of Russian photographer Leonid Tishkov. Using some visual tricks we couldn’t possibly reveal (because we have no idea how he did it either) he’s created this set of images. So stop reading this and click the ‘more’ button, you know it makes sense. (Fubiz)

Velour Spring/Summer 2012

Selectism - velour-ss12-01

Velour have sent over images of their Spring/Summer 2012 collection and, what do you know, it’s a doozy. We remember the ol’ days when we’d have to search high and low for some Velour but thankfully those days are over. The issue now is getting our size before everyone else pulls the trigger. We know, poor us. We’re basically the living reincarnation the Jay-Z’s verse from ‘This can’t be life’. At least we can look at it early and start plotting on what to get when it arrives in stores. We might even have to camp outside for one or two items.

Take a leap, see more.

GQ and Park & Bond Pop-up Shop in New York City

Some looks inside the new GQ x Park & Bond pop-up shop in New York City. These two have been working together since Park & Bond’s launch, so it should come at no surprise that their small landing in the city would come forth around the holidays. Shoppers will find goods and garments from A.PC., Common Projects, Etro, Filson, GANT, Jack Spade, Lacoste, Mackintosh, Oliver Peoples, Orlebar Brown, Paul Smith, Simon Spurr, Thom Browne and Vilebrequin, as well as highlights from GQ’s “Best Stuff of the Year.” We hope our TUMI collaborative duffle bag is in there a well.

The hours are tight on the new pop-up: OPEN from Wed-Sunday at 11am, CLOSED Monday and Tuesday. Find them at 414 W. 14th Street, between 9th Avenue and Washington Street.

Lindsey Lohan Cover for Playboy

Lindsey Lohan Cover for Playboy

Ah. My glasses are finally back on. After Highsnobiety shared a twit-pic-esque look at the forthcoming Lindsey Lohan cover for Playboy, it was only a matter of time for a clear shot to emerge. We now have it.

The January/February 2012 issue of your “favorite men’s lifestyle magazine” features a million dollar spread with Ms. Lohan. What exactly will be seen on the inside is still a bit in the air. For now, we tease.

Louis Vuitton Bicycle Polo Shoot

louis vuitton bicycle polo 2 Louis Vuitton Bicycle Polo Shoot

The mallet people… nuff said.

While the world of bicycle polo will shed a single tear as they see their sport being taken to new levels of luxury, others will appreciate the hand crafted work involved in fabricating the toe straps, mallet, and leather bar wraps used by Intersection Magazine in this shoot with Louis Vuitton. But they worked with bicycle polo players you say? Yes. Intersection was shown mood boards at Vuittons’ HQ. There they saw the early stages of what we have here. Custom straps and mallet, and even the chainring received special attention from Victorie. We like. (arkitip)
