PROJECT 10 | Ebbets Field Flannels

22 August 2011, 20.30 | Posted in Caps & Hats, Fashion | No comments »

Ebbets Field Flannels Project 10-01

Representing America’s pastime, Ebbets Field Flannels crafts some of our favorite caps and varsity jackets. Founded by Jerry Cohen, this Seattle-based brand supplies some of our favorite classic sporting items.

Where are you from?

Originally, I’m from Brooklyn, New York. I’ve been in Seattle since 1986.

How did you start?

I started because I wanted to wear a vintage baseball jersey and nobody was making them at the time. All I wanted were several for myself. I was playing in bands. But, it became an obsession. I ended up tracking down original fabrics and bought it one piece at a time. People saw them and wanted to buy them. So, naturally, I started the business.

What are the key features of your brand?

Authenticity. Timelessness, I think this is the key feature. We don’t respond to trends, we believe historic American athletic clothing will always be in style. We are as true as we can be to the original manufactures of what we are now doing.

What’s it like being part of PROJECT 10?

It is really exciting for us. We don’t usually do tradeshows because of the complexity of the brand. This is ideal for us, to be surrounded by small creative brands. It is exciting as well to see what other people are doing in the industry.

Finally, what is your favorite thing about Vegas?

I like old school Las Vegas, what is left of it. Downtown. I’m trying to find the remaining few spots.

Much more from Ebbets Field Flannels after the jump.

selectism - Kangol Spring 2011

Kangol offers escape from the snow covered days we’ve been battling on the East Coast. “Inspired by East Coast surf culture, and easy breezy summer days, the Kangol Spring 2011 collection invites us to take cover with effortless sophistication. The colorful campaign imagery is borrowed from vintage movie posters from the 60’s. The Kangol Spring 2011 campaign was shot on location in Montauk at the Montauk Yacht Club. Fitting, since it is one of the most sought after surfing destinations on the East Coast, where the casual beach lifestyle is alive and thriving. Tradition melds with new construction, materials, and technique from all over the globe to result in new styles and patterns for all to enjoy. Men’s, women’s, and children’s styles available. Kangol for Denim Demon Ski Cap

selectism - Kangol for Denim Demon Ski Cap

On a collaborative outdoors kick today.

Denim Demon has teamed with Kangol to produce two color variations of a classic ski cap. The inspirations are two fold. First, in color scheme and iconography, the Denim Demon boys look north to the Sami culture (which drives so much of their design). Second, the guys remember Swedish skiing legend Ingemar Stenmark. Known for the height of his ski cap, Stenmark has raced to more victories than any other slalom and giant slalom in history – including two golds at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics.

These caps release in December. 130 pieces per color.

More images follow.
