Czech creative collective OKOLO pay tribute to Italian architect and designer Carlo Mollino with their usual innovative approach. The book encourages the reader to delve deeper into Mollino’s life, in an interactive manner, by assembling paper models representing the man’s work and passions. Bonus – the finished products also look pretty cool, educational as well as aesthetically pleasing, right?

“Mollino became a modern Renaissance man whose production embraced the entire cultural and technological world of his time thanks to his undisguised love of life and everything that our world offers. The book is divided into six basic chapters. Serious stuff here. Ricola gets their own custom trunks for candy. Yes, candy is now the latest of a long line of items to get wrapped in Pinel & Pinel trunks (including Krug and Brompton bicycles). 11 trunks are being built for 11 Ricola flavors: “Alpine Fresh Sea Buckthorn, Cassis, Lemon Balm, Cranberry, Eucalyptus & Plants, Flowers elderberry, Menthol, Orange Mint and Lemon Verbena,” though it should be noted that the photos show them mixing and matching flavors.  (sbt via notcot)

A killer new hybrid Porsche will make its debut next month in Geneva. The Porsche Panamera S Hybrid is no slouch. As Autoblog tells us: “Porsche has just announced that the it is expanding its hybrid fleet with the addition of the Panamera S Hybrid. The big sedan will come to the party packing a combined 380 horsepower, a figure Porsche says is good enough to get the machine to 62 mph in six seconds flat en route to a top speed of 168 mph. A total of 333 of those ponies are derived from the company’s supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, while the remaining 47 horsepower will be served up by an electric motor.” We’re getting there folks. The future.

Hells yes from the Brussels Auto Show. “Easily as tough as any Hummer or Jeep, the X-Tech is based on the Land Rover Defender – one of the most rock-solid rock-crawlers ever devised. It’s available in either silver, three-door Defender 90 form or in five-door Defender 110 long wheelbase in olive green, both offset by black roof, wheel arches, interior and new “saw-tooth” alloys. Not a major upgrade on the standard model, but just enough to give it the attitude it deserves.”
