Selectism - Liar's Dice by Delvaux and Serneels

Here’s a good Father’s Day gift from the Belium’s Delvaux and Serneels. ”A bottle green dice hat made entirely from vegetable-tanned leather, which is very thick leather with a natural finish. Detailing includes heavy stitching, the ‘Delvaux for Serneels’ logo hand-stamped onto the top of the hat, and the serial number on the base. The inside and the drawstring pouch for the dice are made from fine black calfskin with a nubuck finish.” Available now from Delvaux.

Selectism - Ural Patrol T 2WD Motorcycle with Sidecar

Someone was just asking about a moto with a sidercar. Then out of the blue we received a mail from Ural Russian Motorcycles on their new 2WD Patrol bike with sidecar. “The new Ural Patrol T is an all-season sport utility motorcycle with the world’s only on-demand two-wheel-drive sidecar drive shaft. Originally designed to perform in cold, wet and icy off-road conditions in the Siberian wilderness, Urals maintain their authentic old-school appeal but are modern machines that deliver a durable and comfortable ride with advanced components ideal for any urban or off-road environment.” This moto retails for just under 12,300$US.

Hammarhead Industries Woodsman 500

selectism - Hammerhead Industries Woodsman 500

Based in Philadelphia, PA, Hammarhead Industries is the baby of James Hammarhead. He’s turned his passion for 1950s motorcycles into a platform for his own creations. His bikes, like the above Woodsman 500, are lean and mean. They are minimalist rides inspired by the past and geared for modern urban life.

The Hammarhead site launched a few weeks back (and has been getting great press so far). All photography by my friend and neighbor Ryan Miller.

A closer look at the Woodsman 500, which is built off a Royal Enfield Electra X, after the jump.

Selectism - Mercedes-Benz for Eurocopter Helicopter

Damn recession is done it would seem. This Helicopter from Eurocopter for Mercedes-Benz just brought things back to their norm. “A special edition EC145 Mercedes-Benz Style helicopter designed by Mercedes and Eurocopter was just unveiled at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition 2010 in Geneva. The luxurious EC145 is equipped with comfortable seats made of exclusive materials coupled with sumptuous wood fittings for the floors and ceiling. The project, conceived by the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio in Como, Italy, is the only helicopter in its class that can seat up to eight passengers.” (luxist)

Ferris Bueller Ferrari Up for Auction

Selectism - Ferris Bueller Ferrari Up for Auction

Well it’s not a real Ferrari 250GT Spyder California but a replica John Hughs had made for the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off movie. More from Retrotogo: ”It’s a Ferrari 250GT Spyder California, but not a real one – only 100 of the original were made between 1958 and 1963, making it super-rare, so John Hughes and Paramount actually had a replica made for filming. Which is the one being sold off now. Just think, you too could be careering around the city in that same car – but you’ll not have to worry about the mileage or your parents.”

Gentemstick Boards

Selectism - Gentemstick Boards

Cool Hunting turns us onto the world of  Gentemstick board. “Japanese designer and inveterate snowboarder Taro Tamai has been hand-shaping his eye-catching Gentemstick boards for over a decade. An answer to the homogenization of board shapes that happened as snowboarding gained mainstream appeal, Tamai’s goal is no less than to “perfectly blend into the terrain miraculously made of snow and wind, just as if birds flying in the sky or fish flowing in the stream.” The upshot of his philosophical approach to the sport (he calls it snow-surfing) is a line of boards renowned for their flexible fins, oversized sized fish tails and rideability in almost any snow condition.”

Porsche Celebrates 60 Years in the US Market

Selectism - Porsche Celebrates 60 Years in the US Market

Has it been that long? Porsche celebrates 60 years of business on US shores way back in 195 when the first one rolled onto the streets of New York. “From the beginning, Dr. Ferry Porsche saw the limitations of selling his 356 sports car in the Western European markets. He knew in order to sustain and grow his dream, Porsche would have to export its products to larger, more affluent markets like the United States, which had been virtually untouched by World War II.” While we’re on the topic, I have a close friend who has totaled more Porsches than you can count on two fingers. He, for one, is still buying them. Why? Nothing drives like a Porsche.
