Dover Street Market London opens its doors to Nigo’s Human Made with a select range of goods from the cult label. A small space with those trademark Human Made touches such as vintage mannequins and multiple examples of old school branding displayed here on crates. Alongside tees, sweats and light outerwear, DSM will be the only stockist outside of Cold Coffee in Tokyo to carry accessories including badges, notepads and iPhone covers.

What’s happening here then? Canadian store Roden Gray present their Spring/Summer 2012 stock via this mysterious film. Showcasing labels such as Junya Watanabe, Thom Browne and Alden, cinematographer Peter Hagge captures actor John J. Mackie, our hero/villain, on a rainy Vancouver night. Whisky + Face Splashing + Furrowed Brow = Something’s up. Hats off to Roden on a quality production.

Two excellent Japanese labels join forces to create a pair of shoes that are quite simply perfect. Was that too much? It’s just that I’ve spent a lot of time staring at them and I’ve yet to discover anything I don’t like. Regal, who reached their peak during Japan’s Ivy boom in the 60s, have been quite heavily involved in the collaboration game of late; Mt Rainier, Nonnative, Bedwin & The Heartbreakers…This however has to be their winning moment. Glad Hand, a label which is slowly introducing itself to non-Japanese consumers, is best known for its excellent white cotton t-shirts and superb branding. Here they introduce several colourways in the classic Saddle Shoe. Sturdily built, just as they should be, this all black version is an absolute winner.

Lee 101 present the Field & Country collection for Autumn/Winter 2012. Digging back into their sizable archives, 101 continues to breath life into some genuine classics – the ‘First Jacket‘ from the Spring collection a great example of this denim legend’s impressive history. Looking towards colder days expect cords, flannel,  heavy knitwear and leather outerwear amongst their standard denim and chambray pieces. Accessories follow a similar theme, also featuring their classic blanket fabric most famously used inside the Storm Rider jacket.

This Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook from Toronto’s Noir et Gris shows a rather velvety blend of pastoral influence and Druid imagination. A flat brim hat and a gauzy scarf join forces with a black long-sleeved tee and a flowing robe-cape type thing for a presentation that would be very convincing were there not an indecisive meekness to some of it.

We are pointing to the graphic t-shirts in this regard. They are nice and all, but seem out of context with the more dramatic pieces. Still, the flowing lines and smattering of unfinished edges hold our interest. We are ready to see some more.

Model, Edita Vilkeviciute, works over the classic calendar girl swimsuit look in her latest editorial for Garage Magazine’s SS2012 issue – available now. The magazine plays under the idea of “a visual amusement.” We would call this shoot visually appealing. Enjoy.

All-around badass Umit Benan has teamed with The Corner for a hypnotic tee that features the online retailer’s logo in a somewhat subtle way as part of their T-shirt Project. In the past Jun Takahashi for Undercover, Neil Barrett, Hussein Chalayan and Les Hommes have taken part, each interpreting the logo in a personal way.

“The starting point was to follow the brief very literally by incorporating thecorner.com’s logo on a simple t-shirt,” Benan says. “We wanted to avoid any references to ’90s logo mania and create quite an abstract print where the logo is not instantly recognizable.” But wait, there’s more! Starting today, The Corner will offer the LE t-shirt as a gift to customers with purchase.

Most summers in recent memory, the sidewalks have been flooded with those baggy cargo shorts that make dudes look like perpetual toddlers. As an antidote, why not try these pleated cargo shorts from Tonello. A high hem, slender pockets, and pleats make these Burgundy numbers with the mauve cuffs real standouts. Oliver Spencer have created a small range of pieces exclusively for Mr Porter, among which is this navy linen ‘Fulmar’ blazer. A slim fit suit jacket which also comes with matching trousers but would work just as well on its own. The website describes “it balances a smart silhouette with a casual feel, thanks to its unstructured build and flashes of contrasting red.” The addition of a little colourful detail may not be for everyone but adds interest to a simple summer jacket.
