Dazed Digital present a short film going backstage at Jil Sander Autumn/Winter 2012 in Milan. Raf Simons’ ‘See ya Later’ collection, this last line up from the designer was overall a dark and brooding affair; head to toe black, rubber, leather – a message to keep it noir no matter what…well, there was a little light relief in the form of animal knitwear so maybe Simons might just be up for a bending the rules.

To complete the look inspiring these shorts from Left Field would require a matching blazer, a striped tie and some collapsed white socks. Then again, aping a style icon like AC/DC’s Angus Young to a tee would be a bit of an embarrassment unless you have a perfect duck-walk and can rip out raunchy chords on a six-string. Why not avoid all of the confusion and just go with these tribute shorts from the “Angus Young Goes to Princeton Collection,” available in a good slew of colors and made in the U.S.A. with organic cotton.

The length differs from a lot of men’s shorts offerings this season—going down a bit closer to the knee—but the tighter fit makes for a cohesive look for your lower half. A wise move by LF to go with the schoolboy shorts instead of some of the guitarist’s earlier stage costumes: Spider-Man, Zorro, a gorilla, and Super-Ang. Pick up a pair here.

Returning to Japanese label Markaware, this time for Autumn/Winter 2012. What this young fella is doing out in the woods is anyone’s guess, whatever he’s up, he’s communing with nature in style. The collection as a whole is pretty unchallenging, basics in the form of crombie coats, duffles and peacoats all come in muted colours with the occasional appearance of tartan in suits and shirts. Simple stuff.

B store continue their series of well chosen collaborations with this collection created by Underground shoes. Anyone who has spent time in Camden in the past couple of decades will be familiar with these chunky odes to rock n’ roll. Their popularity has fluctuated over the years but the British brand have found themselves firmly back in the spotlight in recent times. B store’s Matthew Murphy explains “We wanted to continue collaborations with English heritage brands, which lead us to look into different cult movements from London. Underground were originators of the creeper with an amazing heritage and following.” Hi boots and ankle shoes in navy leathers, prince of wales check and leopard will be available through stockists worldwide.

Honeyee presents this rather nice editorial centered around Cartier’s Juste un Clou collection. A unisex selection of rings and bracelets in precious metals, some extra fancy with diamonds, these are the kind of simple accessories that we can get with. Man jewellery continues to be a tricky area, many understandably steering clear altogether. However, Honeyee make a good point in pictures – worn in the right way these sparkly things can sometimes work quite nicely. Lookout for Hiroshi Fujiwara, Verbal, Tomoyuki Tanaka alongside Nigo on modelling duties.

Swimmers take form on this pair of Steven Alan swim trunks in olive green. The swimmer all-over look on the swim trunks give them a pop of the original. They look good enough to rock on the streets as well. Made from Japanese nylon, they are assembled locally in the U.S. of A. Find them on the other side of the pond through Garbstore.

The Royal Mail service launches their latest theme collection of official stamps. The “Great British Fashion Stamp Set” collects garments and styles  from 10 local fashion houses including Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen – all beautifully photographed by Sølve Sundsbø with clean silhouettes. Fit yourself into your choice looks.

The popularity of Mad Men highlights many disparities between fashion sensibilities of the late 1950s/early ’60s and those of today. Hair is a fine example. Men in that world tended to have crisp haircuts with clean parts and smooth lines. Men today: not always so much. Having a really good haircut can be time consuming, and in the case of Benjamin, pictured above, seemingly unrealistic. Benjamin is a chef in a busy restaurant and the temperature and humidity of the kitchen make keeping a fancy style in check almost impossible.
