Louis Vuitton trunks have been carrying the possessions of classy globetrotters for some time. While they’re more nostagia pieces nowadays, their hefty frame unappealing to most modern travellers, they still draw attention for their classic lines and sticker friendly surfaces. Lager brand Saint cooks up an interesting series of profiles, “a unique series of monthly live events celebrating contemporary British quality and craft.” Here we visit Oliver Spencer’s shop in Soho (find the tour here) and chat with the man himself about all things British, from his own East London factory to his chosen methods of transport – Brompton bike and Mini if you’re interested.

We take a look at Steven Alan’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection through their lookbook photography. As we mentioned in our NYFW preview, “Lounging New York casual is the feeling we (always) get from Mr. Alan. Always a strong mix looks that work just about everywhere (we like to say for the everyman).” We standby our earlier assessment and add that while the collection remains quite brown and grey, the hits of color throughout balance well. As usual, try before you buy to make sure the fit is you.

Yes, Eddy Chai and Paul Birardi are working a special in-shop collection for Target’s “The Shops at Target” initiative which will showcase a variety of goods from small fashion lines and beyond. “For their Target collection, Eddy and Paul wanted to appeal to a broad range of people—catering to both the sartorially savvy and the guy who’s worn the same pair of jeans his whole life.”

The ODIN collection for The Shops at Target will features a limited collection of sweaters, henleys, button-downs, pants, shoes and accessories – all available in stores and online at Target.com on September 9.

If the signals are true, black and white denim will rule Summer 2012. Our good friends at Cool Hunting visited the Oakland, CA workshop of Roy Denim to get an inside view into his working day and the machines that allow him to create his exceptional denim garments. The video premiered last week at the 99% Conference. Well worth a viewing.

We’re told this is an officially licensed collection of LIFE t-shirts for the Altru brand. The says their celebrating those iconic moments in our lives and maybe it does. The imagery on the shirts run the gamut of hog wild moto meetups to springer spaniels (maybe a pointer?) staring down “life” as it see it. While we prefer the original ALIFE flip of the logo on a t-shirt, we do wonder what other images from the LIFE collection will soon make their way onto the chests of Americans.
