The poster boys for minimalist footwear, Common Projects have gone from a ‘cult’ brand to a firmly established staple. Their pared down stylings were the antidote to the Bape-era of footwear when it launched in 2004 and they’ve gone from strength to strength with their seasonal and continuative lines. We caught up with Peter Poopat to ask about the new additions to the AW09 collection, their various collaborations and the challenge of creating something new.

It’s been a year of surprising collaborations. APC with Supreme, Louis Vuitton with Kanye West, The Black Keys and Jim Jones, but news of SL columnists Billykirk making a collection that will stock at Urban Outfitters still shocked us a little. In fact, it shocked us so much that we got in touch with Chris Bray and asked him just how this collection came around.

Launching last year, Marc Hare’s ‘Mr. Hare’ range launched to much blog fanfare. His range ‘the purest form’ brought a sensibility that hasn’t been seen in men’s shoes for a long time. With his Spring/Summer 2010 collection showing at London fashion week, we caught up with the shoemaker to have a chat and get some exclusive pictures of his upcoming collection.

In some respects PRPS are a lot like Church’s. Like Church’s they’re well known within their respective communities and like Church’s they’re known for their purist’s approach to their products. We caught up with PRPS founder Donwan Harrell and quizzed him about the background of the company, his prior roles and how he discovered his love for denim.

Arne & Carlos have acheived a great deal in short time. At least, that was the perception – when their AW08 collection came out of nowhere and gathered a lot of press attention. Looks can be deceiving however, as the duo have been around for a while putting the work in. We caught up with half of the Arne & Carlos duo, Carlos Zachrison and quizzed him about the brands surge in popularity, growing too big and plans for the future.
