Beryll Vintage Asphalt Boots

beryll-asphalt-boots Beryll Vintage Asphalt Boots

Los Angeles based Beryll Studios offer some army boot inspired styles that are “distressed by hand from restored leather sourced from the 60s and 70s. Since each piece is unique, each boot includes a fingerprint signature of the artisan who handcrafted the boot.” Great works from this design studio. We hope to see more from them outside their sunglass and bag line. 580$US for those looking to get their hands on these. (acquire)

Paul Smith Saddle ‘Scott’ Shoe

paul-smith-saddle-shoe Paul Smith Saddle Scott Shoe

Who’d have though saddle shoes would make a comeback? Sure, people liked them in that picture of Robert Redford on the beach, but no one seriously thought about wearing them. But, due to the current love for anything old, saddle shoes now look the epitome of cool.

Trust Paul Smith to make the most modern looking pair we’ve seen. The slim last means it’ll fit with your slim (New Standard) to tight (New Cure) jeans without looking like you’ve got clown feet. (Paul Smith)

Tricker’s for Kurt Geiger

trickers-kurt-geiger-01 Trickers for Kurt Geiger

Esquire UK, which everyone should be reading - it’s like Monocle for people who aren’t rich dullards - turn us on to the news that Trickers have collaborated with Kurt Geiger. Last summer Geiger worked with Grenson on some pastel brogues and this year they’ve teamed up with Tricker’s on four pairs of brogue boots.

While last year’s collection was more of an acquired taste colour-wise (pastel brogues aren’t for everyone), this year they’ve stuck with the usual brown, black, navy and white. As you’d expect, they’re ridicously well made and as you’d expect, they’re not cheap. (Kurt Geiger)

Lodger Footwear Italian Summer Weekend Range

lodger-summer-weekend-range-front Lodger Footwear Italian Summer Weekend Range

Nothing quite says summer refinement like a pair of loafers, worn without socks. With this notion in mind, Lodger Footwear’s Italian Summer Weekend Range brings a great deal of style and isn’t light on luxury. Constructed of super-fine suede, the loafers come in either stone or chocolate (see above) and are finished with a hand stitched apron and counter. Beyond, Lodger is introducing its new Weekend Sole with the range - a hand finished leather sole complemented by rubber tread inserts. For those that are truly bold, the stone color way also comes in a tasseled option.

See both versions of the stone loafer after the jump.

ndc-spring-2010-01 Bread & Butter | N.D.C Spring/Summer 2010

Don’t let anyone tell you blogging isn’t dangerous. We had to take these pictures quickly or run the risk of rugby tackled by a security guard. While boat shoes are quickly turning into the footwear equivalent of the check shirt (as in it’s the neverending trend) these are pretty special.

We’ve seen plenty of high tops incorporating design touches usually seen in boat shoes, but we haven’t seen boat shoes with the high top heel cushion. It’s a thoughtful that’ll make the shoe a lot more enjoyable to wear.

clarks-spring-2010-05 Bread & Butter | Clarks Originals for Spring 2010

Clarks Originals presented their Spring 2010 collection for the European market at this week’s Bread & Butter Berlin. Colorway changes are abundant in the collection, as well as new fabrics and materials. Our favorites include the Desert Boot worked, of course, in leather and suede. Worth a look if youre in the market for some new Clarks classics. That does not mean you should toss your others though. Clarks simply look better with age.

More looks from the Clarks Originals for Spring 2010 after the jump.

Bread & Butter | Nicholas Deakins Spring/Summer 2010 Footwear

nicholas-deakin-spring-2010-01 Bread & Butter | Nicholas Deakins Spring/Summer 2010 Footwear

Sometimes it’s nice to stumble across a great brand you’ve never heard of before. That’s what happened earlier on today when we came across British brand Nicholas Deakins. The brand has actually been going since 1991 and launched with just four styles of shoes.

We never thought we’d say this but we might, might just prefer Deakins’ wallabees over the Clarks versions. They’ve added enough twists to make these new and interesting while not making them look overdesigned. Take a look at more pictures after the leap.

Bread & Butter | Swear Spring/Summer 2010

swear-spring-2010-01 Bread & Butter | Swear Spring/Summer 2010

Once again, excuse us. We’ve been at Bread and Butter and haven’t been able to post until now. We promise we’ll never leave you style deprived again.

Swear showed their SS10 collection at BBB, hitting us with a flood of new shoe styles. These include an updated creeper, which have a slightly slimmer sole than the original - making them that much more palatable for those who thought the original too extreme. The mixture of leather and suede on shoe uppers is becoming a staple, and Swear’s SS10 collection has it in abundance.

Go ahead and take a look at the collection after that leap.

Bread & Butter | Yuketen Hunting Boot for Nigel Cabourn

nigel-cabourn-yuketen-boot Bread & Butter | Yuketen Hunting Boot for Nigel Cabourn

Here’s a exclusive seen at the Nigel Cabourn booth at Bread & Butter Berlin. Mr. Cabourn called upon footwear maker, Yuketen for a Japan only release. Using the Yuketen Hunting Boot, Cabourn outfits the silhouette with military grade fabrics which are spec’d from WWII materials. The outcome is a solid built shoe which we in the West may never be able to get our hands on. Nevertheless, we love it.
