Ain’t no stopping that heritage! Stumptown by Danner serves us more old-school inspired boots from their back catalog that for ages, sat their gathering dust. Today, they are re-imagined and serving up a cornucopia of 40’s inspired logger boots as well as mountaineering, walkers, and more.

The swelting number of boots on the market make choosing our favorites difficult, but Danner aint playing around here. Europe is getting a fair bulk of this collection – and people were filling their booth. The interest in classic workwear inspired things continues into 2012. Ain’t no stopping it!

I’ve been thinking about “factories” like Maine’s Quoddy for a while. For those not aware, Quoddy is located in Lewiston, Maine, a town pretty much in the middle of nowhere. As in literally in the middle of no-where. Imagine one day, you start getting an increase of orders and the next season, you are in Paris and Europe showcasing your hand-made, made to order footwear – it is a pretty incredible idea. They should be riding this run as hard as they can, and it looks like it is not slowing down.

nonnative offers some interesting footwear for Spring/Summer. Shoe Buff tells us “The brand brings ten new models in which six of them come with a Gore-Tex interior in collaboration with Regal ; Dweller Shoes Wing-Tip, Deck Shoe, Loafer, Plain Toe and Cap Toe.”

The more beach friendly espadrilles might win round those who still find this particular style of shoe objectionable, the slightly wider fit make them appear more moccasin like, espcially invarious shades of suede. A nice selection ranging from smart to run-around.

Here’s the second assortment of looks from Dr. Martens for Autumn/Winter 2012. Florals, which more than likely are for the women find a place as they did for Spring 2012. Steel toe caps are made visible, some creepers… check it out.

Clarks is ramping up for 2012 with a stash of initiatives and special releases. 2012 marks 40 years of their Desert Trek boot, which sees a re-issue in the original leathers used on the debut shoe. More Autumn/Winter 2012 previews; the latest from the Tricker’s brand of footwear. The leather as well as colors may be familiar, as are the shapes, but pay close attention to new applications in pattern. Buttero should be on everyone’s radar. The Italian shoe and sneaker maker, season after season, delivers some of our favorite modern takes on classic trainer and shoe silhouettes, accented in the most premium of leathers. The looks stand out on any display versus other makers. The high-top basketball leather sneaker remains outstanding – scratch that – every shoe in this collection is outstanding. A Selectism favorite for Autumn 2012.

Japan’s PEdALED debuts their second Autumn/Winter collection for the European market at Pitti, though they have been producing cycling centric gear for some time in their home country. What we love about the collection is the considered eye of their director, Hideto Suzuki, who works in details that make the PEdALED jackets functional for riding but sartorially proper for a day out. Price-wise the line offers shirt parkas for around 230 euro to 630 – 750 euro for their saddle work jacket and urban jacket respectively.

One detail we love in many of the jackets are the break away zippers that allow for garments to zip up completely but with a extra pull allow for riders to easily and safely “break” open the zip for open air. We hope to see more of the line soon.

Artist, Steven Harrington known for his desert motifs works debuts a new collection with Generic Surplus. A new desert boot inspired boot under the Harrington name features tobacco brown beeswax leather with an EVA outside – against Harrington’s own graphics “embossed in dark earth on insole and heel.” Some of our favorite Generic Surplus shoes today. Big love.
