Opening on March 29th, the new Swarovski Flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo will features an incredible exterior facade designed by Tokujin Yoshioka entitled “Crystal Forest.” As Dezeen describes, “the facade is covered with stainless-steel mirror reliefs. It reflects the various scenes from the different angles and sparkles brightly like a ‘Crystal Forest’.”
The interior looks to be just as brilliant with walls painted to accentuate the reflections of crystals while “crystals on the floors that are buried in the stone like a fossil.”

We previewed this collection a few weeks ago and now it has hit stores. Born in Paris in 2000, SURFACE TO AIR Paris is a creative studio and boutique operating in art, fashion, and communication. Their need for freedom and independence, and conditions for creativity, compelled them to organize around high multi-disciplinary activities and projects in the creative domains that interested them most. We’re just glad they decided to create some fashion. The Spring/Summer ‘08 collection is looking stellar. The ever evolving label continues bringing you the classics with their indelible twists. In April, Earnest Sewn, the premium denim purveyor, is devoting its Back Room space to the patriarchal eyewear company Moscot. The new installment will launch the two brands’ collaborative collection of co-branded Buffalo Horn Moscot Lemtosh frame specs. These one-of-a-kind styles are designed with real glass and colored lenses just as they were 70 years ago. And for bragging rights, each pair will also be numbered for authenticity. The Comme des Garcons Guerilla Store L.A. opened its doors this weekend. Another hot retail spot for the city, where a lot has been happening in the past months in terms of stores already.
The new store is just like most of these guerilla stores around the globe, very raw in terms of design, minimal and nothing like any other store in its surroundings. On your next L.A. trip, make sure to stop by.
UK brand Garbstore is about to open its first flagship store in London later this month. Here we have first pictures of the store, for now only of the basement, but it’s already looking really good.
In recent years we finally see some brands turning their back on the otherwise mostly Marketing driven fashion market. They return to their core principles of making good product. The interview that we wrote about this morning with Visvim Designer Hiroki Nakamura nicely demonstrated that, and Garbstore is for sure a brand that belongs in the very same category.
More news on the soon to open Garbstore Flagship store London, once we get closer to the opening.
