honda scooter 01 Honda Motocompo Electric Scooter

Inhabitat tell us about Honda’s take on the electric scooter. First produced in the 1980s, they’ve revamped the motorcompo for a modern audience with an open-mind towards all things battery powered.

Displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show, the one  meter high, one meter wide scooter has a removable battery, smartphone docking station and folds down to a portable size just in case a getaway on foot is required. While you might get a few confused glances on this one, it’s undeniably an interesting looking piece of kit.

BMW i8 05 BMWi Electric Car Launch at Art Basel Miami

When BMW ventured into the electric car market you knew this wasn’t going to be a Herbie-with-a plug situation.

Alongside design authority Dwell, the German manufacturer hosted The Sustaethics Event at Art Basel Miami. ‘A celebration of sustainable design and the future of mobility’. The stars of the show were the incredible BMW i3 and i8 concept cars, 3 years in the making for Benoit Jacob, head designer of BMW i.

Set against a background of sustainability of environmental awareness, the venue featured a forested backdrop of 500 trees, designed by Miami-based architect Chad Oppenheim, which were part of a charity donation to local charity Treemendous. “The idea behind this project was to figure out a way to celebrate sustainability with BMW i and Dwell and to give something back to the city,”

Joey Roth’s The Felt Mouse

joeyroth felt mouse 9 Joey Roths The Felt Mouse

Joey Roth’s latest project looks to hark back to a time of wood mice with compression clicks. It’s clearly a nicer form, replacing the “razor” movement with a precision optical control. It’s very much a modern mouse with an incredibly unique form. “The Felt Mouse will be launched on the 13th this month, part of American Design Club’s “Use Me” exhibit.”

Nedrelow iPad Book

“This is Not a Book” is correct. It’s an iPad holder. Reminds me of old friends who would smuggle those little white Iberian – maybe I should not share that. What you get with the Nedrelow iPad “book” is linen cloth on the cover and some soft feelings on the inside for your little tablet.

Selectism Giveaway | HP Envy 100 Printer

HP Envy 100 Printer

Here’s a giveaway that I was lucky enough to spend some good time with. The HP Envy 100 is the first e-printer I have worked with. The HP E-Print tech allows for you and others to print from virtually any device, anywhere in the world. It’s possible through the built-in wifi found in the Envy 100. Once you use the touch screen to add it to your wireless network, the printer is assigned a private email address that you can share and use. Simply email a photo, image, text document, or even a PDF file to your Envy 100’s address and it will print it ont he fly.

To me it feels like a fax in some ways. For a good day, I gave out the Envy 100’s email address to friends and just watched in amazement at the documents they sent to it for printing. While I would not recommend giving everyone your Envy 100’s email address; it is clearly handy for sending files to remote offices and beyond. Hell, plug some into nightclubs and watch. These  Envy 100’s will be the new viral device. I’m having fun with mine.

You can also have some fun with an HP Envy 100 printer. We’re giving one away starting today!

How to win:
