Riccardo Tisci continues to think forward when outfitting the modern. While many reading this here site will see the collection as non-classic, we believe this to be the fucking point. Tisci is designing for the youth looking for their own way. WWD previews their first solo resort effort (past collections were shown side by side with their women’s collection) that picks up on “childhood themes” that work playfully with military steez.

Example: “A noisy print of military decorations and swooshing World World I planes splashes across one of the line’s T-shirts, paired with a Boy Scout-flavored tartan shirt and black shorts, inspired by childhood games of toy soldiers.” Banger.

Brooks England B17 Select World Traveller 2012 Saddle

A solid new version of the classic B17 saddle from the Brooks England company just in time for the London Olympic games. The saddle’s leather surface features an illustration by Richard Phipps who has reimagined the work of Frank Patterson who in the 1920’s illustrated Brooks catalogs. A chrome frame and our favorite hand hammered copper rivets finish the B17 Brooks saddle perfectly. Available online.

Arran Gregory for Brutus Trimfit – Hand-Drawn Shirts

The harbingers of zero-billow over at Brutus Trimfit have teamed with skateboard artist (our fingers claw up when we try to type “skartist”) Arran Gregory for three hand-drawn button-up niceties. It is all part of their aptly titled British Illustrators Project, which, as you probably guessed, will find a handful of U.K. talent lending their pens to Brutus‘ fine fabric.

Gregory is the first artist commissioned for the project and describes his work as “a battle between maximalism and minimalism … I use a lot of detail, but I try to draw things as simply as possible.” Nice looking things that would jump-start many conversations no doubt. Each series of shirts will be up for auction with the proceeds going toward different British charities.

Cole Haan, Nike, Tom Sachs Mission Control Shoes

First off: these are not for sale. Nike and Cole Haan brewed up a special pair of Mission Control shoes for Tom Sach’s SPACE PROGRAM: Mars exhibition currently showing at The Armory in New York City. They are being worn by the crew “working” mission control for Sach’s Mars mission.

Hiroshi Tsubouchi- Shark Sole Derby Shoes

The descriptor is spot-on for these derby shoes from Hiroshi Tsubouchi. Not only do the gleaming white soles look like the precarious teeth of a shark, the shoe in-sum has a sleek air of menace to it. The dude wearing these is sneaking out the backdoor often to smoke things but comes back inside no worse for the wear. If anything, his senses are even more attuned as he prowls the room and pretty much takes whatever he wants. We want these shoes, and all of the powers that come with them. Trés Bien has them.

Zara Seamed Bermuda Shorts

We have never thrown you a direct item from Zara before. Our shoulder was not a cold one, we just never saw anything that caused a double-take. These shorts changed all that. They have the look of harem pants without any of the embarrassment that would likely come from waddling around in harem pants. They seem to look better from the back, but the strange flatness in the front might grow more appealing as the overall looseness lets your nether regions breathe easy on a hot, hot summer day.

We are not 100-percent sure we can pull these off, but at just under $50, the experiment would be practically painless. Plus, if they do not make the cut on the streets, they look comfy enough to sleep in at least. Available online.

Joey Roth for Shwood – Compass

We have a camping trip on the horizon and Joey Roth—he of ceramic speakers and felt mouse fame—wants to help us make sure we are facing true north. The designer has teamed with Portland-based woodworkers Shwood on this handsome-assed compass.

Crafted from laminated maple and East Indian rosewood the directional device was designed with the Francis Barker survival compass in mind. The run is limited to 200 and is available from Joey Roth online. Idyllic video below.
