Every man needs a slow cooker.

In this need there are several options and most are quite good for making things like beef brisket. Margriet Foolen’s Slow Cooker, however, is a little different animal from the average crock pot or dutch oven. Her design, produced for Dutch brand Royal VKB, modernizes the look of the traditional tagine (a Moroccan device traditionally of Terra cotta). The Slow Cooker is of traditional material, but adds a silicon ring that makes transition from oven to table seamless.

Is it vastly different from a normal tagine? No. But, it is a particularly handsome piece a kitchen equipment. (via Dwell).

San Francisco brings a well selected group of menswear and men’s interest exhibitors to the California Modern Art Gallery (1035 Market St, San Francisco) this weekend. The event is spearheaded by Durable Goods Concern, a collective of five blokes with a passion for style and quality. Aside from shopping, visitors will also be able to down a few free Lagunitas IPAs…. and teetotalers can enjoy some fresh coffee.

The offerings cover bikes, books, denim, watches and more.

Running from today through Sunday. Unable to make it? The guys have also graciously lined up a contest to appease salty out-of-towners.

Paris was stuffed full of clothing-related goodies last week and, as a result of being a ridiculously small team, we couldn’t see everything. Oficine Creative’s new collection is in our top 5 of ‘wish we coulda seen it’ brands – leave a comment if you want to know the other 4 – and judging from the bags on show, we messed up. While all the bags look tasty, we’ve got our eye on that leather backpack.

Yeah, yeah, it’s another sale piece. What do you expect? It’s sale season and we love a bargain. This time it’s these Won Hundred chinos, down to £54 (from 90). We’ve got history with these trousers, having featured them extensively back in the day (aka a few months ago). They’re a simple, easy (and now cheap) alternative to denim and, unless the wide leg takes over extremely quickly, won’t be out of fashion for years yet. (Three Threads)

When news broke of Casely Hayford’s upcoming capsule collection for John Lewis, our feelings could be described with one word – bemusement. But now we’ve seen the collection, thanks to folks at Style Salvage, we’re firmly on board. With knitwear created by John Smedley, jackets made by Barbour (the shortest jacket Barbour’s ever made) and shoes by Cheaney, the collection looks to focus on quality as well as an affordable price point. The collection features 30 pieces in total and will be available from John Lewis physical and online stores from March.
