Market Report 2008

RTEmagicC 2008 trends.jpg Market Report 2008

Men.Style.Com has put up a new Market Report 2008, telling us what to buy and what not to buy, what to get rid of. Looking through the report we can see that distressed denim will be back, after the long raw denim trend. For once it will also be nice to put on a pair that is just comfortable and does not need a year to get to that point. Also the houndstooth on linen is something we are looking forward to. When Spring time comes around, it will be a perfect outfit for sure – lightweight, dressed, but not too dressed up.

There are also a couple of things in the guide, that we cannot really follow. Rolled-up pants? This thing that Thom Browne has brought on us is just something we are not so sure about. On a hot summer day maybe, otherwise, nahhh! Also they give you the advice of purchasing a classic Patek Phillippe watch. Since when has that ever gone out of style? A good watch is just a must-have and a Patek Phillippe wristwatch is probably as good as it gets, a piece that you pass on to the next generation, a piece that never goes out of style and also never really should be in a trend report. At least in our opinion!

Make sure to check out the report yourself!

Obedient Sons S/S 08

We present you another one of our favorite labels, Obedient Sons. Their Spring/Summer 2008 collection is very strong and we especially enjoy the choice of colors. Both the light colors looks nice, but our favorite is the navy blue/red combination and the light pink. Also the mix of sportswear and casual outfits is well balanced, making sure that you find something appropriate for any occasion. We see influences from the colonial style, college clothing as well as smart city chic.

We are looking forward to see the line in stores. After the jump some more pictures.

Engineered Garments S/S ‘08 Collection

Engineered Garments S/S '08

Engineered Garments got his name from the fact that their garments are not designed, but engineered, due to the vast amount of details involved in each garment. Inspiration is taken from American sportswear, military clothing as well as outdoor clothing, in the collections, designed by Japanese designer Daiki Suzuki.

That is no different for the Spring/Summer ‘08 collection of the brand. Classic styles are smartly re-interpreted and lots of small details are added, giving them their very own unique looks as well as functionality. As usual in terms of colors the brand stays simple and concentrates on cuts and patterns. The outcome is a casual style, that might have looked dressed up by any other designer, but Engineered Garments manages to make them wearable and inhales a relaxed look into these American classics.

After the jump some more pictures of the upcoming collection.

Henrik Vibskov S/S ‘08 Collection

Henrik Vibskov S/S '08

Last year an incredible hype around Henrik Vibskov broke out all over the world. The Danish designer certainly has his very own unique style, that is sometimes dressed up but mostly sporty and always sports lots of crazy colors.

We love his collections, but mostly we enjoy picking pieces here and there and matching them with more subtle outfits. Our personal favorites in his collections are always the knitwear as well as the accessories. The shirts in the new collection also look great! The pants we find the hardest to pull off, but that’s just our personal opinion!

Have a look at some more styles after the jump.

Common Projects S/S '08

Common Projects has become one of our new favorite sneaker brands over the past 2 years. Simple and subtle aesthetics, nice colorways and the golden serial number is a nice touch as well. The brand smartly enlarges their collection every season. For Spring/Summer 2008 they add perforated leather sneakers, mixed (leather and patent) sneakers and some fresh new colorways. Strong pieces from previous seasons they also keep in the collection. Furthermore they added more dressy leather shoes. Pics via Superfuture.

Check out a first preview of some of the new Spring/Summer ‘08 styles after the jump.
