We take a look at the Hermes Alligator Leather Table Clock as made for the Only Watch 2009 event. “Only Watch is an extraordinary auction event which is held every two years in Monaco during the Monaco Yacht Show under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert 11. This year, for the auction 35 high watchmaking brands are each making a unique piece. All the proceeds from Only Watch go to support research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.” The chassis is done in stainless steel covered in red Hermes leather (12 layers). It measures 175mm high by 150mm wide and is 37mm thick.  Taking names with this one. We’ll feature more from the Only Watch 2009 auction in the coming days.

Fashionisto take a look at the Autumn collection from London’s b Store. “B store sails into the fall with their chic collection of fashionably awkward proportions. B Store explores and tweaks traditional menswear in a fashion that results in a new range of clothing separates and pairing possibilities. High-waist trousers are cropped to high-water length, whereas blazers are delivered various treatments as modern as the motorcycle jacket’s cut.”

Kris van Assche is the “jury president” at the Hyères Festival International de Mode & de Photographie  in the South of France and Wallpaper* Magazine sat down with van Assche for a quick interview.  On the topic of the festival’s photographic showcase, van Assche says, “It was both an honor and a responsibility. It comes down to promoting young photographic talent and bringing our own vision of creation to the table.”

GQ has announced the finalist for “Best New Menswear Designers in America” in conjunction with the CFDA. The six finalist selected by GQ are Benjamin Bixby, Robert Geller, Rogues Gallery, Save Khaki, Shipley & Halmoss, and Yigal Azrouël. All the finalist are features in the February 2009 issue of GQ. “A panel of industry experts, including GQ editor-in-chief Jim Nelson, American menswear designer Thom Browne, and CFDA executive director Steven Kolb, will determine the winner.”
