Isaac Reina Holders and Wallets

Selectism - Isaac Reina Holders and Wallets

I stopped using traditional wallets a long time ago. My biggest issue with them was how they allowed for growth; they tend to build up and become tomes of sort; stuffed with every receipt and business card possible on top of the important items like a driver’s license or credit cards. I thought I had found the perfect solution for myself until these Isaac Reina holders made an appearance on Oki-Ni.

Made from leather and having undergone major color treatments to give them their vibrance, Isaac Reina Card Envelopes, Pocket Wallets, and Coin Holders are a great alternative to the usual bulky billfolds. Best of all they have a look all to their own with their red, yellow, and black colorways. Available now from 84-96$euros.

BillyKirk No95 Shoulder Satchel

RTEmagicC billkirk no95.jpg BillyKirk No95 Shoulder Satchel

The term “man bag” has made it awfully difficult for the average American male to consider some sort of day bag outside of either two choices: an attache attached to their palm, or one of many courier varietals. Unlike their European and Asian counterparts, the day bag simply does not fit with the ideals of a man man.

Lucky for us, the minds behind the BillyKirk brand  have been developing  exceptional leather products to introduce the Americano male to a new world of bag fashion (since as far back as 1999).

Take for instance the BillyKirk No.95 Satchel Bag. This hand stiched leather satchel  borrows much from a traditional WW2 Belgium Map case – but has been redeveloped from a single piece of cowhide to be a slightly larger fill. Absolutely no details were left untouched on the No.95 from its silver snap clips, to the adjustable arm strap.

This is top teir American leather works at its finest. Handmade in the USA by  the Amish in Pennsylvania.  Instant  classic.  Available now at Blackbird Seattle or the BillyKirk Online Shop.

Some bags by Moore & Giles and Krane…

09 December 2007, 17.59 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

The accessory market has exploded over the past couple of years and even for men there is lots of choice out there at the moment. We are big fans of Japanese brand Porter, which is still very hard to come by outside of Japan.

Nevertheless there are some companies out here that do a great jobs. The bag has become also for men an important accessory, to travel or simply to go to work with the laptop. We checked out the brands Moore & Giles and Krane.

Leather bags

Moore & Giles is a brand that has been around over 70 years now. The brand is based in Virginia and creates natural leathers. Now they offer an entire range of bags – laptop bags, tote bags, weekend travel bags and more. The fine leather and smart choices of the mix, is what attracted us the most.

We especially enjoy the large travel bags by the brand. They come in a big range of leather choices and looks great!

Krane is another interesting label, in comparison to Moore & Giles, definitely a more modern take though. Founded in 2004 by by Ken Chow – a graduate of the Menswear program at New York’s F.I.T and who interned with Marc Jacobs and Alexandre Plokhov of Cloak, the label presents a mens fashion line and a bag collection, which we look at now.

“Krane Design combines the practicality of vintage uniforms with details from modern industrial design in pursuit of forward, functional, innovative and individualistic everyday garments and accessories. Old school traditional tailoring techniques meet technology and a new school stylistic design attitude in delivering essential items that acknowledge the thoughts and aspirations of the new contemporary man.”

His bags come with the uppers made up of waxed cotton. Smart form giving and practical transformations, make his line multifunctional! (pics of the Krane bags taken from Blackbird blog)

This was out take on some exciting mens bags! After the jump some more pics of Krane bags.

RTEmagicC jackspade new.jpg New Jack Spade Accessories

Jack Spade released some new accessories for the Holiday 2007 season. As usual the brand presents high quality accessories, a lot of things that one does need and even more that you will never need but still want to have. Among our favorite in the line-up is the Crown Twill Turnpike Brief, a nice weekend travel bag that features leather handles and a waxwear bottom. Also the Embossed Anchor Bill Holder and the nylon collection are something to have a closer look at.

Anyways, if you need something new in the bag/luggage category, make sure to check out Jack Spade. Most of the goods you can also get online!
