Back in January we got up close and personal with this collection at Pitti, now to the lookbook. Adam Kimmel hooks up with Carhartt for Autumn/Winter 2012 for the usual stripped back smart casual look we’ve seen in previous seasons. Photographer Ari Marcopoulos shoots and models, taking up a variety of poses, ’state trooper looking off into the distance’ being the most popular. A sound collection as you’d expect, for your next under a bridge trip why not choose Adam Kimmel for Carhartt as your preferred outfitters? More over at our neighbour Highsnob.

Adam Kimmel has set up shop in a corner of the recently opened Dover Street Market in Tokyo’s Ginza. On hand are some fine-looking wares and a neon installation piece by Dan Attoe, who Kimmel has worked with in the past. Here’s a look at the spot as well as some shots of the rather involved-looking process of setting it all up (after the jump).

We like Kimmel, we like Tokyo and we like the Dover Street Market, so it is nothing but smiles over here (we also like neon palm trees).

Part of Adam Kimmel’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, the Hawaiian Overdye Print is the designer’s perverted paean to the current camo trend sneaking across runways. Not sure where you’d be able to hide effectively in this print (in a field of old Trapper Keepers and Vuarnet shirts perhaps?), but we do like the balance of subtlety and “fuck-it”-ness inherent here. Por Vocacao has them.

We are also appreciative of the flexibility allowed with the level of commitment. Pair the pants with a white v-neck tee, wear the shirt with some khakis, put the tie on to punctuate a suit or put it all on and go hide somewhere in 1989.

Très Bien takes us into the Paris showroom of Adam Kimmel. Located in the Marais, aside from the good views this former artist’s studio currently houses the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection amongst the vintage furniture, marble cake and painted stone floors. Take a look.

Japanese store Tomorrowland put together a lookbook full of spot on summer layering, the kind of images that make you hate winter with a vengeance. An interesting mix of silhouettes and proportions. Super wide trousers to make the most of that warm breeze are a particular favourite. If you prefer to keep things slim check out their suiting; traditional fabrics with a modern cut.

The store carries stellar labels such as Gaziano & Girling, Mackintosh, Adam Kimmel, Casely-Hayford and Mismo to name just a few. Even with such an incredible list to work from we still have to acknowledge their lookbook skills. Well done Tomorrowland, we want it all. Now.

Dazed delivers behind-the-runway photos from the Adam Kimmel show, Autumn Winter 2012. Inspired by “Area 51″ and USAF, mil-steez, Kimmel reaches into the blue territory that we’ve been seeing for autumn. While mil-inspired, the fashions are that – cut and fitted looks for the runway. Nothing too casual here.

We step back into the normal fold of coverage with select looks from the forthcoming Adam Kimmel and Carhartt collection for Autumn/Winter 2012. The collaborative collection, as many of you know, take the boxy work cuts of the original American Carhartt styles, hands them over to Mr. Kimmel, who properly treats them with his own touches.

We, again, note that the the cuts on this collection are true to what you will find on Carhartt workwear garments as sold in the United States. Those looking for more slim cuts on their wears, may consider Adam Kimmel’s mainline. As shown at Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy.

We once heard someone say that all ‘designer’ sneakers are terrible. We beg to differ. Take Mr Kimmel’s offerings for instance. They’ve been consistently great for a while and this chukka is a perfect example of why designer sneakers have something to offer. And it’s on sale, which is nice. (Colette)
