Available now at Barneys New York and next week online is the new line of Spring/Summer 2012 scarves from director, Harvard alum and accessories designer Alexander Olch. Fancy lightweight cotton jobs, these are designed and manufactured in New York City. These branch out a bit from his Ivy league fineries, though some of them look a lot like really, really nice dishtowels. Then again, we have occasionally wished some of our favorite dishtowels were the right size and texture to wear as scarves.

Alexander Olch and TheCorner.com produced this new video short on how to tie Olch’s favorite necktie knot, the four-in-hand. Model Aurelie Claudel is clearly more beautiful than Olch, but we still hear him narrating this one. That’s ok.

ACL & Co. kicks out the neckwear with Mr. Olch this Spring 2011. “The four classic regimental stripe ties are made of vintage silk patterns that have been produced especially for the collaboration by the Olch mill in England and were sewn in Alexander Olch’s factory in Brooklyn, New York.” Modern menswear.

Better known for his neckties and bow ties, New York designer and film maker Alexander Olch presents a range of notebooks. We came across them this week, while cruising through Parisian store colette. The beautiful materials that are otherwise found on his ties are in this case wrapping different size notebooks. We love them!
