The good folks at Tenue de Nimes just worked over a very nice collaborative garment with the Armor Lux line. Armor Lux continues to press forward with exceptional garments. As TdN’s Menno van Meurs tells us, “We teamed up with French knitwear brand Armor Lux to co-created a limited edition ‘Dutch Breton’ interlock shirt referring to the red, white and blue from the Dutch and French flag.” A great garment for everyman. Autumn is approaching. Consider throwing out your beater house shoes and slipping into these gems from the Armor Lux company of goods. The naval striped look is extended to your feet with the advantage being inside the shoe: soft fluffy wool keeps it all nice and warm. C-store has them.

Hard to argue the classic appeal of the Breton shirt. High fashion incarnations are relatively frequent, especially with eyes toward maritime tradition these days. Flamborough Marine, out of the UK, sells genuine Breton shirts manufactured by Armor Lux. The shirts come in long and short sleeve of 100% Egyptian spun cotton.

A great range of colors are available. For spring/summer 2010 a limited run of blue and green stripes complements more traditional navy and red looks. In any case, the Breton shirt remains a simple, timeless garment.

If you’re anything like us, you’ll have a hankering for a Sailor style sweater. As you’ll probably know, this sweater style was originally intended for the French navy. So, a striped t-shirt would indicate a young recruit (who’d have to wear it during their three month training period), a plain blue sweater would be for officers and the striped one reserved for sailors (hence the name). And apart from that, it’s a nice winter layering piece. (C Store)
